Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior took part in the Civil Defense workshop in Dubai. The workshop was held upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The workshop was held with the aim of reviewing and evaluating performance of the competent teams as they endeavored to control the fire that recently broke out at the Address Downtown Hotel in Dubai; to identify opportunities for improvement and establish a detailed scientific analysis of the incident, in order to come up with the appropriate conclusions and important recommendations.
His Highness Sheikh Saif extended his heartfelt thanks to the guests and visitors of the Address Hotel for their civilized collaboration with the competent authorities. His Highness called upon the hotel guests and visitors who were in the vicinity at the time of the fire to share their views with respect to the incident and to submit their feedback regarding the performance of staff members; methods of evacuation and ambulance and rescue services via email on: Feedback_address@moi.gov.ae. This would provide the opportunity to improve services and avoid potential future errors.
His Highness Sheikh Saif also called upon Civil Defense officials to exert further efforts to reinforce partnership with the concerned government entities; as well as with developers, private real estate company owners, consultants, academics and experts to share expertise and opinions and identify improvement opportunities.
The workshop was attended by Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Federal Civil Defense Sector Development Council; Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defense General Commander-in-chief; and Major General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Director General of the Civil Defense in Dubai and Deputy Chairman of the Federal Civil Defense Sector Development Council. Also attending were Civil Defense Director Generals in the UAE, heads of Prevention and Civil protection Departments at the Civil Defense sector; along with a number of officers from the sector and local companies’ experts.
