Shipsy To Showcase How Its AI-Powered Innovations are Helping Businesses Save Costs & Boost CX At Seamless 2023

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, 31. August 2023

Shipsy, a leading global smart logistics management platform provider, recently announced that the company is among the key associate sponsors for Seamless Saudi Arabia 2023, to be held in Riyadh from 4th-5th September.

Shipsy will leverage this opportunity to showcase how it's helping the region's supply chain stakeholders leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation to drive business growth, reduce logistics costs, ensure resiliency and deliver delightful digital customer experiences.

The UAE and Saudi Arabia, two of the most vibrant economies in the Middle East, are experiencing a surge in the growth of AI expenditure, with an anticipated CAGR of 29.7% between 2022-26, leading to total spending of $6.4 billion by 2026.

AI plays a pivotal role in building the foundation of autonomous supply chains. According to EY, by 2035, 45% of supply chains are expected to be mostly autonomous. In other words, supply chains will increasingly need to become self-operating and self-optimizing networks. Real-time data analysis, seamless stakeholder collaboration, and predictive and prescriptive intelligence are vital in building autonomous supply chains.

"Globally, the logistics industry is undergoing massive shifts. Food delivery aggregators are becoming logistics service providers (LSPs). 3PLs are increasingly partnering with more LSPs. Shippers are seeing value in using not theirs but LSP's technology. But at the core of this lies three vital objectives–cost optimization, delivery reliability and delightful customer experiences. This is where autonomous supply chains make a winning difference. It will empower retailers, LSPs and manufacturers in Saudi Arabia to reduce logistics costs, boost delivery efficiency, mitigate transportation risk mitigation, optimize resource and capacity utilization and provide superior customer experiences," said Soham Chokshi, CEO and Co-Fonder, Shipsy.

During Seamless, Shipsy will showcase its AI and predictive intelligence–powered logistics co-pilot LIA (Logistics Intelligent Assistant). LIA enables businesses to manage logistics incidents using predictive/prescriptive analytics proactively. It ensures informed decision-making using advanced analytics and automates rerouting and rider allocation processes for seamless delivery operations and superior delivery experiences.

Early this year, Shipsy announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Monsha'at, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to expedite Saudi Vision 2030. The MoU highlighted that Shipsy would offer its technology at a significant concession for all customers channeled through Monsha'at. The leading logistics SaaS provider also earmarked an investment worth USD 10 million over 5 years in the region to drive technology innovation, research, and development.

The Middle East is pivotal to Shipsy's growth story and success. The SaaS provider expects to clock a growth rate of more than 125% in the region. The Gulf has been instrumental in the company's growth trajectory, contributing 35% of overall revenue.

Seamless KSA 2023 offers an exceptional platform for industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to converge and explore the latest advancements. Attendees can learn more about Shipsy's contributions to digital transformation, sustainability, and AI-driven logistics solutions by visiting booth no. AE 32 during the event.

Democratising access to quantum computing: IQM Quantum Computers launches “IQM Spark” for universities and labs

ESPOO, Finland & MUNICH - Wednesday, 30. August 2023 AETOSWire

IQM Spark will be installed at the user’s premises to give them full control for experiments

IQM Spark is available for under one million euros

(BUSINESS WIRE)--IQM Quantum Computers (IQM), the European leader in building quantum computers, today launched “IQM Spark,” comprising a superconducting quantum computer and tailored learning experiences for universities and research labs worldwide.

IQM Spark comes pre-installed with a 5-qubit quantum processing unit, with more options available allowing for a wide variety of research experiments.

To help universities kick-start their quantum program, in addition, universities will have free maintenance for one year, and IQM will also provide training for running the system and learning materials accessible through IQM Academy, a user-friendly online platform. With IQM Spark, students of all levels (bachelor, master, and PhD) will have the opportunity to learn hands-on about quantum computing.

Additionally, universities can also provide their students with the skillset needed for a quantum-enabled future by leveraging both hardware and software within the learning materials. With its technical track record and world-class expertise, IQM is also committed to collaborating with universities to drive advancements in quantum science.

Dr. Kuan Yen Tan, Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers, said: “Since our inception, we’ve invested in and promoted quantum education and the advancement of research, and it’s apparent that universities around the globe need critical tools like IQM Spark to train the workforce needed for the next generation. Given the potential of quantum computing, the ecosystem will require a wide range of talent across electronics, chip fabrication, hardware design, and software engineering. We are confident that our system will facilitate the learning experience and engage students with the physical system.”

“We’ve designed this offering for universities and research labs to build up their quantum expertise and we believe that our system will not only perform fundamental quantum experiments and raise interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) but we will also advance university science around quantum computing in general, while addressing the shortage of talent and providing value for the job market,” Dr. Björn Pötter, Head of Product at IQM Quantum Computers, points out.

IQM has already delivered 5-qubit quantum computers to some universities and research institutions, including the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Germany. The quantum computer at VTT has been connected to LUMI, Europe’s most powerful supercomputer, hosted by the CSC - IT Center for Science.

“VTT and IQM successfully collaborated in delivering Finland’s first quantum computer in 2021. The 5-qubit quantum computer enables users to take the first steps in developing quantum algorithms and learn how to utilise the new technology in practice”, said Pekka Pursula, Research Manager in Quantum Technologies at VTT.

“On-premises quantum hardware is only available from a very limited number of vendors. This fact alone makes it hard for us to provide this leading-edge hardware to our scientists. Pricing and missing learning resources make it even harder to make this leading-edge technology available for educational purposes for our students,” said Prof. Dr. Dieter Kranzlmüller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, which caters to all universities of Bavaria in Germany.

“IQM Spark will address three major challenges: availability, learning resources, and affordability. In that way, universities can give practical experience to the next generation of quantum computing experts,” he added.

“Making on-premises quantum computer hardware available to our scientists and students as a low-barrier resource will give a boost to scientific progress and educate the next generation of quantum experts. This paves the way for students in Bavarian universities, such as Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and Technical University of Munich (TUM) students, to become entrepreneurs in the field of quantum technologies and live up to the excellence claim of the Munich universities,” he concluded.

About IQM Quantum Computers:

IQM is the European leader in building quantum computers. IQM provides on-premises quantum computers for supercomputing centres and research labs and offers full access to its hardware. For industrial customers, IQM delivers quantum advantage through a unique application-specific, co-design approach. Pennsylvania Convention Authority Renews ASM Global Management Contract Becoming First Venue in World Leader’s ‘Premier Package’ Convention Center Expansion

State-of-the-Art Immersive ‘Media Modules,’ ‘Business Speed Action,’ Future Now Sustainability Innovations Planned to Reflect Emerging Technologies and Audience Needs

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority (PCCA) board of directors has approved a five-year contract renewal for ASM Global as its venue management company with the convention center poised as the launch location for a dramatic series of innovations in ASM Global’s convention and conference portfolio — the largest in North America and worldwide.

The new agreement will commence on Dec. 1, 2023, for five years, through Nov. 30, 2028, with the international entertainment leader planning to bring many of its most innovative designs to a leading group of convention centers beginning with PCCA. It will be the first in a program creating unique environments such as immersive LED moments, speed-action offerings to accelerate business strategies, elevated VIP lounges and quiet spaces for business connectivity.

“We are thrilled to announce the continued partnership between the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority and ASM Global as the venue-management provider for the Pennsylvania Convention Center,” said David A. Nasatir, Esq., chair of the board, PCCA. “For 10 years, ASM Global has been a valued collaborator and, because of their outstanding contributions, has elevated the Pennsylvania Convention Center to world-class status.”

In 2013 the PCCA first made the decision to privatize management of the center with an initial contract being awarded to SMG, which was subsequently rebranded to ASM Global following the 2019 merger of AEG Facilities and SMG. The merger created a venue management powerhouse that spans five continents, 14 countries and more than 350 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, theaters and convention centers and has positioned ASM Global as the world’s preeminent venue-management and live-experiences company.

“The ASM Global team at the Pennsylvania Convention Center is, without exception, the finest in the industry,” said John J. McNichol, president and CEO, PCCA. “Their innovative leadership and commitment to delivering an unmatched customer experience have positioned the center, globally, as an industry trailblazer and venue of choice, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration as we take the Pennsylvania Convention Center to the next level.”

Under the management of ASM Global, the Pennsylvania Convention Center has already implemented several cutting-edge and industry-changing initiatives such as the 2014 execution of the Customer Satisfaction Agreement, a document that guides the relationship between the center and the labor unions that work at the facility with the goal of providing a more productive, customer-centric and cost-effective worksite for guests and the ASM Global Acts program, under which the center has successfully executed a robust sustainability and social impact plan.

Dan Hoffend, ASM Global executive vice president, convention centers, said, “We’re excited to begin the next chapter for the convention universe beginning with the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This includes sustainability features that create substantial movement toward carbon neutral; new Flex-space exhibit halls that can adapt to the needs of our diverse attendees; and LED walls that provide sponsorship, wayfinding and entertainment.

“We’re bringing our proven best features from our stadiums and arenas directly to our convention centers to create a premium line of facilities like no other in the industry. Our attendees require entertainment as a part of their business paradigm. We are changing the industry by creating a unique environment for all of our guests,” Hoffend said.

PCC’s ASM Global general manager, Tony Hodgins, said, “We thank the PCCA for their continued trust in our ASM Global team and for their unwavering support over the years. Our team at the center remains focused on our goal of providing a first-class customer experience to all our guests, and we are honored to be able to continue working with our key partners to showcase all that Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Convention Center have to offer.”
