Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR), met with the graduates who attended the ‘Protocol and Ceremonies’ course for officers assigned with the task of accompanying official delegations. A total of 35 officers from various police general headquarters and directorates general at the Ministry of Interior took part in the 3-day course, which was held at the Hilton Hotel Abu Dhabi.
The course, which was organized by the Protocol, Relations, and Hospitality Committee, affiliated to for the Higher Organizing Committee of the 2016 International Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR 2016), is part of the preparations for the exhibition, scheduled to take place on 15th -17th March, 2016 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
In his address to the graduates, Major General Al Raisi expressed his happiness for this meeting. He confirmed that the course embodies the keenness to highlight the civilized and bright image of the UAE and commitment to the original customs and traditions as instilled by the higher leadership, which stipulates the need for the accompanying officers to welcome guests, treat them well, assist them and accompany them throughout their stay in the country.
Moreover, he called upon them to be best representatives of their country and to reflect the civilized progress and development that are taking place in the country in various fields. He also thanked them for participating in the course, and wished them continued success in their future endeavors in the service of our beloved country. He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the team who organized this course.
For his part, lecturer Colonel Dr. Jassem Khalil Mirza, Director of Security Awareness Department at the Community Service Directorate General at Dubai Police, briefed the participants in the course on the human behavior and skills of dealing with others; and introduced them about the concept of "Etiquette and Protocol".
Moreover, Colonel Mirza tackled the golden rules of dealing with guests, handshake and greeting manners, the seating etiquette, the skills that should be available in the accompanying officer, in addition to some important instructions for escorts. He also reviewed a number of practical examples and cases, in addition to practical workshops to collect the views and impressions of the officers who took part in the course. The course included field visits to the most important landmarks in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, in cooperation and coordination with the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.
