Schlumberger Becomes First Company in Upstream E&P Services to Commit to Science-Based Target in Emissions Reduction

The target will align Schlumberger with the goals of the Paris Agreement to reduce climate change

PARIS-Saturday 21 December 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Schlumberger announced today its commitment to setting a science-based target to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Schlumberger’s commitment has been submitted to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and, in line with the defined criteria, Schlumberger will define its reduction target by 2021. This commitment is part of the company’s thought leadership and focus on environmental and social sustainability through its industry-leading Global Stewardship program.

Science-based targets in line with the latest climate science must meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, an agreement developed in 2016 by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that seeks to reduce GHG emissions. The Paris Agreement focuses on limiting global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels.

Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch said, “The energy industry has a key role to play in reducing the effects of climate change. Schlumberger seeks to lead positive, measurable changes in GHG emissions within the industry to help reduce climate change. The application of our industry-leading environmentally responsible technologies will help drive process efficiency and environmental footprint reduction.”

The SBTi champions science-based target setting as a powerful way of boosting companies’ competitive advantage in the transition to the low-carbon economy. It is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments.

Värde Partners Exceeds Target Raising Nearly $2.5 Billion in 13th Flagship Fund

Fund Seeks Opportunistic Investments in Credit and Assets Globally

MINNEAPOLIS & NEW YORK & LONDON & SINGAPORE-Friday 20 December 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Värde Partners, a leading global alternative investment firm, today announced it has raised its 13th flagship vehicle, Värde Fund XIII (“the Fund”), with $2.47 billion in commitments.

The Fund exceeded its $2 billion target and will have the flexibility to invest in a range of credit and credit-related assets globally across liquid traded credit, special situations, real estate and financial services.

“Over the past 26 years we have built a global platform with the agility to seek attractive risk-adjusted value in opportunistic credit and asset markets,” said George Hicks, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “In this fund, we utilize our deep experience through many market cycles with the flexibility to invest in both private and liquid markets, across capital structures and regions.”

Värde expects the opportunity set to be driven by systemic distress factors, including where financial systems retain persistent high levels of non-performing loans, and cyclical opportunities associated with industry or economic downturns.

“Against a backdrop of intense economic uncertainty, there are several significant pockets of distress around the world today, and we expect that opportunity to grow over the investment period of the Fund,” said Ilfryn Carstairs, Global Co-Chief Investment Officer. “We have strategically built our right to play in markets where we can target the gaps left behind by traditional capital providers as they continue to retrench.”

“The strong support for this fundraise came from both new and long-time investors,” added Jon Fox, Partner and Global Head of Business Development and Investor Relations. “We appreciate the confidence that this diverse investor base has in the power of the Värde platform.”

In addition to its flagship funds, Värde has previously raised dedicated capital for targeted investment strategies in Asia, Europe, mortgages, private debt, real estate, and specialty finance.

Värde Partners is a leading global alternative investment firm with roots in credit and distressed. Founded in 1993, the firm has invested more than $68 billion since inception and manages over $14 billion on behalf of a global investor base. The firm’s investments span corporate and traded credit, real estate and mortgages, private equity and direct lending. Värde employs more than 300 professionals across 13 offices worldwide. Ingram Micro Cloud Certified as Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Service Provider

Prestigious certification ultimately helps partners grow their own managed services

IRVINE, Calif.-Tuesday 17 December 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ingram Micro Cloud today announced that it has earned the Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Service Provider (MSP) certification, the premier certification for MSPs that designates Ingram Micro Cloud as a top global provider of managed services for Microsoft Azure.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20191216005121/en/

The certification enables Ingram Micro Cloud to further assist partners to grow their own businesses by extending services and expanding their offering portfolio. For cloud resellers, Ingram Micro Cloud offers the ability to white label its Microsoft Azure professional and managed services, helping them to more efficiently manage their resources in relation to their customer demands.

“We’re excited and honored by this outstanding recognition from Microsoft, as it underscores our ‘More as a Service’ initiative and extensive efforts to provide more meaningful value-added services to Azure customers,” said Nimesh Davé, executive vice president Global Cloud, Ingram Micro. “The certification expands our strong partnership with Microsoft and reflects the tremendous investments we have made to help our partners and customers become more successful.”

“Ingram Micro has shown time and again through countless customer engagements that they are one of the world’s go-to Microsoft Azure experts,” said Mark Rice, general manager, Microsoft Worldwide Services Partners. “We would like to congratulate them on achieving this top honor, which is an objective confirmation of the company’s ability to help MSPs build and scale their Azure businesses.”

To be certified, each Azure Expert MSP is required to pass a rigorous screening process, including an extensive two-day onsite audit where they must demonstrate top tier expertise in managed services—spanning all aspects of the customer lifecycle from initial assessment through architecture and design—and a trusted relationship with Azure customers for ongoing support, security and optimization.

The Ingram Micro Cloud team coupled this expertise with its extensive cloud IP—including the Ingram Micro CloudBlue platform—to realize a comprehensive solutions-oriented business that fulfills the highest standards set by Microsoft.

In addition, CloudBlue—with its full suite of solutions, including CloudBlue Commerce, CloudBlue Connect and CloudBlue Orchestrator—is the only out-of-the-box platform that solves for the technology component of the Azure MSP certification. As the certification is granted on a limited basis, those resellers that do not gain Azure MSP expert status will still benefit from the adoption of CloudBlue regardless, as the platform enables next-level expansion of cloud capabilities for MSPs, which furthers their ability to drive revenue and increase profit.

NTT Group Launches Compliance Management Solution Using Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

TOKYO -Friday 20 December 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- In recent times, there has been a growing demand for companies worldwide to strengthen their compliance and risk management. To help our clients manage these requirements, NTT Group, represented by NTT Advanced Technology Corporation (hereinafter, NTT-AT), Everis Spain S.L.U. (hereinafter, everis) of NTT DATA Corporation, itelligence AG (hereinafter, itelligence) of NTT DATA Corporation are announcing a compliance management solution using robotic process automation (RPA). This solution aggregates and analyses data from internal HR and compliance on-premise and cloud-based systems, supporting customer initiatives to strengthen responsibility and internal governance control. The NTT Group plans to start providing this service in the second quarter of 2020.

Due to stricter regulations across many industries, particularly the financial industry, businesses are facing the threat of multi-regime controls and high fines by local authorities. Due to the complexity of the regulations and reporting requirements, these institutions are facing problems to identify compliance issues, along with a lack of transparency in governance. This often leads to increased manual workload, process time and paperwork due to the complexity of their IT environment.

The integrated solution provided by NTT Group combines; the RPA tool "WinActor ® (*1)" of NTT-AT, the SMCR solution of everis, and the consulting and the integration capabilities of itelligence to achieve the combination of reducing complex manual operations and coordination of compliance-related data managed across multiple systems, such as Excel (*2) and existing systems.

This solution will initially be provided as a compliance management solution for the “Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR)" in the UK and will be expanded outside the UK in response to regulations and to support clients compliance and governance management globally.

NTT helps its clients accelerate their digital transformation journey by implementing innovative technologies, such as WinActor®.

Notes:

About "WinActor®"
WinActor is a robotic process automation (RPA) tool which has been developed using the in-house technologies by NTT Access Network service system laboratories and has been achieved into commercialization.
WinActor records and automates various types of human operations such as those via Windows (*2) application, Web Application and so on. It runs automatically routine repetitive tasks and large volume works instead of or collaborating with human. Additionally, by changing the existing jobs into new automatic work style, it would bring out a large value in business perspective such as efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness without modifying any software of existing system.
WinActor has been rapidly introduced and spread since 2017 especially in the organizations which seek for “Work style revolution” regardless the type of industry and size of the company. Currently, in November end of 2019, more than 4,200 companies have introduced WinActor.
