Patton... Let’s Connect!

(BUSINESS WIRE) Patton Electronics announced today the new OnSite 3300 Series of G.SHDSL.bis EFM IADs is now shipping and generally available.

Made in the USA, the OS3300 completes Patton’s US-manufactured EFM solution set, which includes an EFM DSLAM, an EFM Bridge, and several EFM VoIP CPE solutions.

Taking advantage of common copper infrastructure already in place, Patton’s complete set of EFM-compliant solutions avoid the disruption, delay, and expense of installing new CAT5 or fiber-optic cable.

Exploiting installed copper cabling to deliver first-mile/last-mile broadband connectivity, the OnSite 3300 G.SHDSL.bis EFM router bonds up to 4 twisted pairs for symmetrical line rates up to 22.8 Mbps.

Designed to the ITU-T G991.2 and ITU-T G.998.1 (G.bond) specifications, the OS3300 is ideal for carriers, ISPs, and system integrators that want to deliver triple-play services over existing copper cable.

“There’s a lot to love about copper,” said Johnnie Grant, Product Manager. “It’s time-tested, reliable... and totally paid for. Patton’s complete EFM solution set makes legacy copper wire a viable medium for new-generation, high-speed network services.”

The OS3300 now joins an EFM portfolio that also includes:

• Standalone G.SHDSL EFM DSLAM

• High-Density G.SHDSL EFM DSLAM

• G.SHDSL EFM Bridge CPE

• G.SHDSL EFM VoIP IAD with Analog and BRI

• G.SHDSL EFM VoIP IAD with T1/E1/PRI

• G.SHDSL EFM All-IP Session Border Controller

Compliant with the IEEE 802.3 2Base-TL (aka 802.3ah) EFM standard, Patton’s EFM IAD interoperates with any third-party EFM DSLAM—as well as Patton’s ForeFront EFM DSLAM solutions.

The OS3300 is also suitable for wireless backhaul, Metro Ethernet, and LAN-to-LAN extension using the existing copper plant.

In back-to-back installations, the OS3300 offers Patton’s exclusive “high-speed mode,” delivering ultra-fast line rates up to 60 Mbps.

Patton also offers another industry-unique feature: the OS3300 can be upgraded to support 4 to 250 SIP-to-SIP VoIP calls—transforming the device into a session border control IAD.

All Patton EFM devices include Patton’s Gold-Standard Free Support. Platinum Platinum Premium 24/7 Support is also available.

In related news, Patton was recently chosen to supply VoIP CPE for New Deutsch Telekom Services.
