Under the patronage of General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the Police College will celebrate the graduation of the 25th batch of male cadets and university graduates, and the 9th batch of female university graduates. The ceremony will be held at the Police College Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Colonel Saif Al Ketbi, Police College Director said that the new cohort of graduates totaled 387 graduates both male and female, and includes 162 cadets, 205 male university students and 20 female university students. He explained that the cadets include 14 students of seven different Arab countries, two from Kuwait, three from Qatar, one from Palestine, and two students from Jordan, Yemen, Bahrain, and Comoro Islands respectively.
Colonel Al Ketbi said: “Since its inception in 1985, the Police College has sought diligently to graduate national competencies in legal and policing disciplines and various fields of police work, to provide the different police bodies, departments and police service centers with skilled and highly qualified personnel. He expressed his pride in hosting the graduation of this new cohort of police officers wishing to serve the country, armed with a plethora of knowledge and training, pledging to shoulder the various responsibilities of police work to promote the stability and security of society.”
Colonel Saif Al Ketbi pointed that the Police College has achieved a prestigious leading position amongst its peers in the region in the various training, academic and administrative fields, thanks to the unrelenting support of the higher leadership. He reiterated the commitment to review and develop the evaluation standards regularly in order to keep pace with the latest developments in the academic and training fields.
Adding further, Colonel Al Ketbi explained that the college offers distinguished academic and training systems based on practical applications in order to graduate police officers capable of fulfilling the different security situations with high- level skills and professionalism. “The academic program at the Police College begins with a preparatory semester followed by eight semesters over the course of four and a half years, and includes military, policing and professional training. Upon completing these studies, students will be qualified to obtain a PhD degree in police sciences and criminal justice, after an internship across the different police sectors,” he continued.
The Director of the Police College expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the police leadership for its unwavering and ongoing support to the college and for all exerting every possible effort to upgrading the proficiency of the Police College. He also thanked the academic and training faculties, as well as the officers, non-commissioned officers and constables, for their loyal efforts to qualify these batches for graduation.

The top achieving graduates of the Police College expressed their utmost thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and to General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for their dedicated support and attention given to the police and security bodies in the UAE.
The graduates also praised the close follow up of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as well as the tremendous efforts made by the supervisors at the Police College and the academic and training faculties over the entire period of the course. They also expressed their overwhelming happiness with this achievement, which allows them to support their counterparts in the police force in preserving the national achievements in the UAE.
The graduates said: “It is an outstanding honor for us to serve the country and society. Police duty is a noble service, aimed at providing security, stability and safety to all members of society.” They added: “Police officers enjoy a distinguished and prestigious social status, due to their instrumental role in establishing social justice.” They reiterated that police officers must constantly endeavor to enhance the good image of the police, maintain conduct, as well as gain and retain public trust.
The top achieving graduates pledged their readiness to work in any policing field or position, as stipulated by their superiors and as required by public interest, in order to put the skills and competencies they acquired to good use and to fulfill the tasks and duties assigned to them in the best possible way.
They explained that policemen are the a reflection of the civilized aspect of the UAE; hence they should have a good general appearance and demeanor, and they need to be physically fit and healthy in order to carry out the challenging tasks of their job. They also emphasized their wish to pursue further academic attainment in one of the security fields.
In conclusion, the graduates said that working in the police force is a duty, an honor and a sacrifice; and that hard work, encouragement of their families, discipline and obeying instruction were have been a valuable encouragement for them to prove that they are highly dependable, capable of shouldering heavy responsibilities and rise to the challenge.
