Competition for the Ramadan Tournament, organized for the inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, kicked off with a sponsorship from ADCO, the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd. The tournament includes various sporting activities and collective games such as football, basketball, and volleyball alongside individual games such as table tennis and tug-of-war, and other cultural competitions.
Major Abdul Jalil Ismail Ahmed, Reform and Rehabilitation Coordination Branch Manager at the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department of Abu Dhabi Police, stressed that the care for the general health of the inmates is one of the highest priorities of the establishment. This comes alongside of training and rehabilitation events that provide a healthy environment through social, sporting and educational activities throughout Ramadan.
