Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior headed the UAE delegation that is taking part in the extraordinary meeting of the Interior Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States held yesterday, Thursday, in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Saudi Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Mohammed Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior; and Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Oman’s Interior Minister. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed was accompanied by a delegation that included: Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs; Major General Matar Saif Al Shamesi; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director General of the Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of Interior; and a number of senior officers at the Ministry of Interior.
Upon his arrival, H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed was welcomed by his counterpart, H.E Sheikh Mohammed Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait; H.E Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the GCC; H.E Rahma Hussein Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the State of Kuwait; and a number of senior officials at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior.
Their Excellencies and Highnesses were briefed by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait on the significant efforts exerted by the Kuwaiti security forces to uncover the details of the heinous terrorist bombing in Imam Al Sadiq mosque in Kuwait last Friday, which led to the arrest of the culprits in record time. These efforts prove that the Kuwaiti security forces are up to the national responsibility that is upon them to ensure safety and stability of Kuwait.
Their Excellencies and Highnesses the Ministers of Interior expressed their pride and appreciation for the high national spirit exercised by the Kuwaiti people.
