The Humeira Badsha Medical Centre (HBMC), UAE's leading specialist in musculoskeletal diseases, announced it will be collaborating with Emirates Hospital, an Emirates Healthcare Company as it officially opened the doors of its new facility to the public in Emirates Hospital, Dubai.

Having treated over 13,000 patients since its establishment in 2012, HBMC brings a team of experienced, highly skilled doctors to its new, advanced facility. Equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology, the centre’s doctors are eager to apply their exceptional skills to a range of treatments for arthritic diseases, which include: autoimmune arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis, as well as gout, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Humeira Badsha, Consultant Rheumatologist of HBMC stated, “We are devoted to providing top quality healthcare to all our patients. We firmly believe in treating our patients the way we wish to be treated ourselves, and this is the motto that inspires our team to remain compassionate while delivering the highest standard care on a daily basis. As such, our collaboration with Emirates Hospital makes complete sense. We are both committed to our collective vision of achieving the highest standards in quality of care and quality of service."

Dr Yehia El Gabbani, Director of Emirates Hospital, expressed his delight at the collaboration with HBMC, commenting, “The addition of the new facility here at Emirates Hospital emphasises our commitment to delivering the highest quality of healthcare to our patients. HBMC’s outstanding reputation as the standard-bearer for first class rheumatology treatment in the UAE will add value to our existing portfolio of services and reinforce our position as the premium healthcare provider in the country.”

Equipped with certified clinicians and practitioners, the centre currently caters to 100 patients a day, and the recent collaboration with Emirates Hospital, facilitates HBMC to expand its services and highly skilled team of doctors in the near future.

HBMC prides itself on its ability to offer a variety of world-class treatments, the majority of which are covered by health insurance. The centre strives to nurture a caring and compassionate environment, designed to ensure its patients have peace of mind at all times. In addition, HBMC uses advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound technology, and offers new treatments such as biological medications and targeted small molecules, which demonstrate the centre's ability to carry Emirates Hospital innovative healthcare vision forward into the future. Motivated by a strong desire to put patients’ needs first, the centre’s devoted team ensures that patients and their families are involved in the care provided and the medical decisions made.

The brainchild of Dr. Humeira Badsha, HBMC was founded to tackle what she perceived to be a distinct lack of awareness around arthritis in the UAE, which was causing long delays in diagnosis. If left undiagnosed and untreated, arthritis can cause deformities and disabilities. Dr. Badsha’s concern about such lack of awareness inspired her to set up the Middle East Arthritis Foundation ten years ago, an organisation that has helped and supported thousands of patients through its events and awareness programmes. As a founding member of Emirates Society for Rheumatologists, the HBMC founder is dedicated to improving education among the increasing number of rheumatologists in the UAE.
