Freemarket and Axiym launch LIQUI-DT™ – real-time business access to primary-market USD₮ from Tether

LONDON & ZUG, Switzerland -

(BUSINESS WIRE)--Freemarket and Axiym today launched a world-first service that gives businesses 24/7 real-time access to freshly minted, primary-market USD₮ issued by Tether.

LIQUI-DTTM gives businesses compliant access to primary market stablecoins inside a fully regulated payment ecosystem via Freemarket’s global payment network.

In audited trials, clients have minted or burned more than $300 million to date.

Institutional users and high-volume traders will benefit from superior price certainty and direct liquidity giving them budgetary control. As the USD₮ is minted directly in the primary market, treasury and compliance teams have clear provenance for internal reporting 1.

The LIQUI-DT service works because while no single party owns the whole stack, it is integrated into the Freemarket network. The combination of Freemarket’s compliant fiat rails and payment network, Axiym’s liquidity engine and on-chain settlement layer and Tether’s primary market issuance creates a regulated payments network with live mint access. Tether's role is limited to issuance; it does not operate the network or provide payment or settlement services.

The unique infrastructure of the network creates strong checks and balances, reduces concentration risk and supports regulatory confidence, making this structure difficult to replicate.

This service positions Freemarket as the only non-issuer with both deep fiat infrastructure and live access to USD₮ mint capabilities through regulated partners.

“Compliant access to primary market stablecoins inside a fully regulated payment ecosystem is a massive unlock for us,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether. “The combination of Freemarket’s compliance-first payments network, integrated with Axiym’s dynamic application layer, connected directly into Tether, allows Tether to sit closer to where payments happen. Companies moving money into, out of and between emerging markets now have 24/7 global access to freshly minted USD₮, the dominant stablecoin for these geographies.”

“We share a common aspiration with Tether. USD₮ helps people in emerging markets access a stable financial system, remittances, cross-border trade and preservation of wealth against inflating national currencies. We want the same for businesses,” said Andy Lyons, Chief Growth Officer at Freemarket. “We are the only non-issuer with both deep fiat infrastructure and live USD₮ stablecoin mint capabilities. We can now connect the stack end-to-end, and move money into USD₮ instantly, globally, securely and compliantly through our LIQUI-DTTM service.”

“Axiym has built a globally distributed treasury layer which allows Freemarket and Tether to embed their financial services directly inside our regulated payment ecosystems,” said Farhad Rassul, Co-Founder & CBO, Axiym. “Our compliance-first approach, with a core-banking layer that creates wallets, accounts, and transactions while embedding AML and monitoring tools, means that customers can be confident of the end-to-end integrity of the process.”

For more information visit www.wearefreemarket.com/liqui-dt

Note: Tether's role in LIQUI-DT™ is limited to the primary-market issuance of USD₮. Tether does not operate the LIQUI-DT service or provide payment, settlement or compliance functions.

___________________________

1 Access is restricted to verified customers and is subject to KYC/AML and other eligibility requirements.

Access is gated and documented, so organisations will find it easier to evidence controls for internal reporting.

Momentum Grows for Miro MCP as Users Embrace the Canvas for AI Collaboration

SAN FRANCISCO & AMSTERDAM - Tuesday, 29. September 2026

Calls to Miro’s MCP server surge past 16 million; MCP jumps the developer niche with individuals in non-engineering roles now among the majority embracing the technology

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Miro®, the collaboration and context layer for the AI era, has reported more than 16 million calls to its MCP server since its launch in February 2026, with usage more than doubling since May. In September alone, MCP calls are on track to reach 6 million*.

Teams increasingly rely on AI to accelerate work—from discovery and planning to design and code. Yet most AI interactions happen in chat windows or static outputs that exist separately from the team's actual workspace. Miro's MCP server changes this by giving users a way to make the output from their AI tools visual, immediately editable, and accessible to the whole team on a shared canvas.

Miro user data shows Claude Desktop and Claude Code represent almost two-thirds of usage in August (65%). ChatGPT has become the second-largest client, growing 71% in users between August and September. In total, 15 different AI clients have now connected via the MCP integration; others include Microsoft Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, and Grok Build. Further analysis of the data also demonstrates that the Canvas is being leveraged as both an input and output for AI agents. 57% of August calls were Miro-to-code, where an agent reads a board and acts on it, and 41% were code-to-Miro, where agents generate boards, diagrams and layouts directly.

The data also indicates that the demographic of users adopting MCP has shifted. MCP has jumped the developer niche. Users in engineering and developer roles account for under a quarter of MCP users—product, design, marketing, operations and project management together outnumber engineers roughly two to one.

"The explosive user adoption of Miro's MCP server is showing the true demand for bringing your agents closer to the work teams are actively doing," said Jeff Chow, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Miro. “By leveraging MCP tools with Miro, teams can visualize complex ideas across multiple formats on a collaborative canvas. What's most exciting is the growth we're seeing across all disciplines, showing Miro is well positioned to be the collaboration layer in the agentic era."

“The Miro MCP server changed how our product team thinks and ships,” said Dominic Le Garsmeur, Chief Product Officer at Fincore Ltd. “It gives our PMs the freedom to be bold on the canvas knowing Claude will help turn that thinking directly into the requirements our developers build from. Better ideas reach engineering faster.”

Teams are adopting Miro as the central interface for AI-assisted work. With 16 million MCP calls since its launch and adoption spreading across all job functions, the pattern is clear: AI agents need a workspace that supports how teams actually work—visual, shared, and endlessly editable.

Notes to editors

What is Miro’s MCP server?

Miro's MCP server is a Model Context Protocol integration letting AI tools connect to Miro boards—creating diagrams, tables, and canvas content, and reading existing board data programmatically.

For further information visit: https://miro.com/ai/mcp/

How was this data measured?

*Figures are drawn from Miro's internal product analytics and count tool calls made to Miro's MCP server by connected AI clients between the server's public launch to the time of publication, excluding usage by Miro employees.

EIG’s MidOcean Energy to Participate in LNG Canada Phase 2

 LONDON & WASHINGTON -

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- MidOcean Energy (“MidOcean”), a liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) company formed and managed by EIG, a leading institutional investor in the global energy and infrastructure sectors, today announced its participation in Phase 2 of LNG Canada through its partnership with PETRONAS, following the Final Investment Decision (FID) by the LNG Canada joint venture partners on September 29, 2026.

MidOcean’s participation in Phase 2 follows the completion of its December 2025 acquisition of a 20% interest in the North Montney Upstream Joint Venture (“NMJV”), which holds PETRONAS’ upstream investment in Canada, and a 20% interest in the North Montney LNG Limited Partnership (“NMLLP”), which holds PETRONAS’ 25% participating interest in the LNG Canada Project.

Phase 2 will add two liquefaction trains at LNG Canada’s facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, increasing the project’s production capacity from 14 mtpa to 28 mtpa. The expansion will build on LNG Canada’s position on Canada’s Pacific Coast and is expected to provide access to abundant Canadian natural gas resources and competitive shipping routes to key Asian markets.

MidOcean’s participation in Phase 2 will increase associated LNG volumes, from 0.7 mtpa to 1.4 mtpa, and deepen its position across the integrated LNG value chain, spanning upstream gas production in the North Montney and liquefaction and export through LNG Canada. The investment is consistent with MidOcean’s strategy to build a large, diversified, cost- and carbon-competitive global LNG portfolio, and reinforces its position as a long-term partner of choice for high-quality LNG projects across the Pacific Basin.

“We have long believed in LNG Canada as one of the world’s most advantaged projects: with the scale, resource depth, and Pacific Basin access to deliver reliable energy to global markets for decades,” said De la Rey Venter, CEO of MidOcean. “Participating in Phase 2 is a natural next step for us, and we have strengthened our partnership with PETRONAS while advancing our strategy of investing in high-quality, globally competitive LNG assets.”

Promega Launches Paradyme™ 27GY STR System, Minimizing Stutter Artifacts in Forensic DNA Analysis

MADISON, Wis. - Tuesday, 29. September 2026 AETOSWire Print

Reduced-Stutter Polymerase technology delivers clearer electropherograms for faster and more accurate mixture analysis

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Promega Corporation has launched Paradyme™ 27GY STR System, the first commercially available short tandem repeat (STR) analysis kit to include the company’s Reduced-Stutter Polymerase (RSP). This novel enzyme, engineered by Promega, significantly reduces the most common type of confounding artifact in forensic DNA analysis. The result is an 8-fold reduction in stutter signal intensity, producing clearer electropherograms, improving confidence in number-of-contributors (NoC) determination, and enhancing detection of minor contributors in mixed samples. Ultimately, this leads to faster mixture interpretation with higher confidence and the ability to interpret more complex mixtures, helping labs solve more cases and reduce backlogs.

“This is the first forensic STR analysis kit to virtually eliminate stutter at its source,” says Tim Kupferschmid, Sr. Director of Genetic Identity, Promega Corporation. “By simplifying mixture deconvolution, Paradyme™ 27GY STR System will fundamentally change what analysts can deliver to investigators.”

The kit is designed for use with Spectrum CE System and Spectrum Compact CE System. Promega is the first manufacturer to develop and launch a capillary electrophoresis instrument capable of 8-dye STR analysis.

Reduced Stutter in Forensic DNA Analysis

Stutter has been a major challenge of forensic DNA analysis for decades. When DNA is amplified using Taq polymerase, the enzyme occasionally slips across repeated sequences, resulting in a new fragment that is shorter than the original. When the sample is analyzed by capillary electrophoresis, the resulting electropherogram will show an extra peak that is one repeat shorter, and sometimes one repeat longer, than the true peak. These extra peaks create challenges for analysis when a sample potentially contains DNA from multiple contributors. It is difficult to determine whether a peak represents stutter or an allele from a minor contributor.

The enzyme included in Paradyme™ 27GY STR System is engineered to minimize “slippage” during amplification of repetitive DNA sequences common in forensic DNA analysis. The enzyme reduces stutter signal intensity by an average of 8-fold relative to current systems, often rendering it undetectable from instrument baseline noise. This minimizes a significant source of uncertainty in forensic casework. As a result, labs are able to provide conclusive results for complex mixtures, generate more accurate profiles for casework and databases, and decrease their turnaround time for sample analysis.

Promega first unveiled the novel engineered enzyme at the International Symposium on Human Identification in 2024.

Advantages of Paradyme™ 27GY STR System

Paradyme™ 27GY STR System is an 8-dye multiplex that includes 23 autosomal STR loci, Amelogenin and key Y-STR loci, supporting CODIS core loci requirements and the expanded CODIS framework used by crime laboratories in the United States and internationally.

System benefits include:

Average of 8-fold reduction in stutter signal intensity, producing clearer profiles at amplification

Fewer data edits, reducing time spent on analysis

Reduced stutter and Y-STR loci improve NoC determination accuracy

Higher interpretation confidence with more complex mixtures, reducing analyst fatigue and secondary technical review effort

Increased minor contributor detection in mixtures

More loci amplified from degraded samples using shortened-amplicon 8-dye multiplex

Quality Indicator peaks that support more informed assessment of amplification success and sample quality troubleshooting

Promega offers extensive support to forensic organizations interested in adopting Paradyme™ 27GY STR System. Laboratories can contact a local Promega representative about in-house evaluation and comparison against current chemistry. For implementation support, Promega offers forensic experts to support on-site optimization, customized validation, and hands-on training for chemistry and instrumentation with over 200 forensic customer validation projects completed globally.
