Al Menhali Confirms MoI’s Commitment to Human Resources Development

During extensive forum that tackled distinguished proposals and practices

Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior, emphasized the police leadership’s attention and commitment to develop the human resources sector, which constitutes the main pillar of any development process.

These remarks were made by Major General Al Menhali during an extensive forum that was held at the Abu Dhabi Police Officers’ Club for staff members of the Human Resources and Support Services. He also reiterated the UAE government’s keenness to streamline procedures and support the expansion in implementing smart services towards accomplishing a successful and fast transition towards Smart Government. He also called for availing of smart technologies and devices to enhance the quality of the services offered to both the public and staff members.

Major General Al Menhali praised the country and its farsighted leaders who endeavored to avail of edge-cutting technologies and world-class applications to develop practical policies and practices. He said: “In modern organizations, the key to successful management is effective participative decision-making between leaders and employees, in addition to the open-door policy, and activating communication channels with employees, and leveraging their feedback to develop and improve decisions.”

Participants at the forum discussed a wide range of practical ideas and proposals to develop the Human Resources and Support sector at the MoI.  Panel discussions tackled proposals to improve institutional performance. Participants gave an overview of their expertise and experiences as live examples from the field, in addition to ways to control and ensure quality of work as a key criterion to measure performance and services outcomes. They also stressed the need to abide by the work schedules, as well as transparency and honesty, which would positively reflect on productivity, achievement and the service of others.

Attendees expressed appreciation for the forum, which provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and education; review the distinguished practices adopted by the police leaderships, and avail of their expertise to get acquainted with the modern management philosophy and concepts. In conclusion, they emphasized the importance of the forum as a valuable tool to boost job loyalty efforts and the employee satisfaction concept; as well as an opportunity to collect new ideas and suggestions in order to complement the MoI’s efforts to develop human resources’ performance.
