ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, May 21st 2016 [ME NewsWire]
In cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (Awqaf), the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate continues its fire prevention awareness campaign. As the UAE summer heats up, and with summer vacations around the corner, the campaign will include the distribution of brochures and practical advice on fire safety requirements, at public gathering locations and mosques in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
Lt. Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, noted that the campaign falls in line with the host of services provided by the Civil Defense to the community. It particularly aims to enhance community members’ awareness about the causes of fires and how to avoid them, as well as to acquaint people with the proper preventive precautionary measures that should be taken to deal with fires that increase especially in the summer season; to safeguard lives and property.
Lt. Colonel Al Ansari praised the importance of the campaign to ensure direct communication with the public, especially in mosques across Abu Dhabi after Friday prayers in order to educate them about the safety requirements at homes, as well as the causes of fires and prevention methods. The campaign also highlights the best action to be taken when a fire starts, including how to use manual fire extinguishers.
