ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, May 20th 2016 [ME NewsWire]
The Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police launched the ninth edition of its Al Radda program, in collaboration with the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development. The program aims at providing Emirati inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments with an opportunity to enter the business sector and reintegrate in society after serving their sentence.
The course acquainted inmates with the Khalifa fund, and highlighted its benefits and objectives. It also focused on offering financial and logistic support to participants and teaching them the proper ways to set up a small business.
Ten inmates from the Punitive and Correctional Establishments took part in the one-week course, which was supervised by Professor Raed Al Rawedi. Towards the end of the course, participation certificates were handed out to the participants.
It is worth mentioning that the Al Radda program is designed to provide inmates with the necessary training, professional rehabilitation, advice, and financing to allow inmates to set up and pursue new investment projects. This would help them to return to normal life and integrate into society after having served their sentences.
Moreover, the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police hosted the fifth edition of the car mechanics workshop, organized by Al Massoud Cars. Ten inmates benefited from the sixteen-week workshop.
The workshop included scientific and theoretical courses and regular inspection tests. The participants also received certificates at the end of the workshop.
