Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior gave instructions to launch the Ministry of Interior Youth Council with the aim to support distinguished young competencies at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and empower them in line with the future approaches. The council’s outcomes would be utilized in identifying key challenges, providing solutions and programs to address them, as well as launching initiatives that support the MoI and its objectives.
The MoI set transparent and objective steps for choosing the members of the Council of 20-30 years-old age category from all sectors of the Ministry.
The launch of the MoI Youth Council comes in parallel with the Emirates Youth Council the was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The Emirates Youth Council aims to realize continuous communication with the Emirati youth, and identify their ideas and opinions about finding solutions for challenges. Their opinions will facilitate the government efforts of providing ideal environment for realizing their dreams and ambitions, as well as empowering them to play an active role in the prosperousjourney of the UAE.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior noted that launching the MoI Youth Council is the result of the MoI’s efforts and its ongoing commitment to encourage national competencies to show their excellence and innovation that serve the police and security work. He also pointed out that the council represents an important addition to the efforts of fostering social relations among members. The council opens new horizons for discussing visions and ideas that enhance police and security work with innovative ideas that further develop the MoI strategy. This strategy aims to support young national competencies and refine their capabilities by linking them with recent developments and knowledge according to the best international standards.
“Through the work plan and the various initiatives that the council will suggest, we aim to develop a comprehensive ecosystem to support the youth at the MoI and develop their capabilities, as well as provide a work environment that incites innovation and encourages them to be active members of their society,” Major General Dr. Al Nuaimi said. “The MoI will be an interactive communication platform between the youth and various governmental entities and related institutions. We will reflect the youth ambitions and ideas via initiative and programs at these entities to be implemented.”
For his part, Major General Dr. Abdul Quddous Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Director General of Total Quality at Dubai Police explained that the Council will contribute to realizing the ambitions of the young members at the MoI in order to adopt and provide new ideas that help realizing development in the UAE society. He also noted that the Council must achieve a number of objectives within the framework of the safety and security journey in the UAE.
Major General Dr. Al Obaidly also pointed out to the role of the leaders in supporting the authorities of the Council and adopting their suggestions, recommendations, constructive ideas, and noble objectives he said that this goes hand in hand with the strategy of the MoI towards realizing further development and preserving the civilized national gains.
He also called upon the youth to register their ideas and suggestions, and provide recommendations about the methods of implementing innovative ideas in the UAE. He also stressed the commitment of the higher leadership to supporting strategic initiatives that work within the comprehensive ecosystem of supporting the youth.
He also asserted that the Ministry of Interior is committed to utilizing the capabilities of the youth, identifying their ambitions, and encouraging them to provide a better quality of life to others, as well as enabling them to take part in social responsibility of their country. The MoI continuously cooperates with the youth to reach solutions for leading the future, and works with them in planning their future and highlighting futuristic ideas locally and internationally.
