Training to throw light on the leading international framework
Dubai, United Arab Emirates -Thursday, February 23rd 2017 [ ME NewsWire ]
Sustainability reporters across the globe have been using the GRI Guidelines for the past 15 years. GRI reports have been published from more than 90 countries around the world, with thousands of organisations referencing the guidelines to create the leading framework for sustainability reporting. The Guidelines are specifically referenced in policy or regulation in more than 40 countries and regions, as well as 24 stock exchanges. Here in the Arab Region, over 140 sustainability reports have already been produced using the last version of the GRI guidelines known as GRI G4 within the last couple of years. This indicates towards a steady stream of reports that have come from both public sector and privately owned organisations.
Arabia CSR Network President & CEO remarked, “In all the years that we have been a training partner of GRI, we have been fortunate to interact with hundreds of sustainability professionals who have found in GRI the perfect framework for reporting their non-financial performance. We have also witnessed a steady growth in the trend of sustainability reporting in the Region, with some very advanced examples of reporting that have come forth from companies in our Region. This trend will consolidate in the years to come as stakeholders demand more transparency and accountability from organisations.”
Arabia CSR Network will offer several training sessions on sustainability reporting in the month of March. There will be a 3 day course on GRI G4 in English and another 3 day course in Arabic. There will be two short one day sessions on the GRI Standard Transitional Module, one each in English and Arabic. All the courses will cover accredited content developed by GRI and supported by Arabia CSR Network. Candidates that complete the courses will receive a certificate of attendance from the GRI headquarters based in The Netherlands. Arabia CSR Network will also support these candidates in their future reporting efforts. The Network offers advisory service for CSR strategy and sustainability reporting.
