IMA Middle East Launches 2017 Membership Offer
Dubai, United Arab Emirates -Monday, February 6th 2017 [ ME NewsWire ]
IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), the association of accountants and financial professionals in business, has launched its newest membership offer for 2017 to counter the prevailing dip in confidence amid economic conditions in the Middle East.
Accounting and finance professionals planning to pursue the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification may now register for the program and receive a one-year IMA membership free of charge.
“Challenging economic conditions often results in organizations and professionals ‘taking stock’ and reflecting on how to enhance their competencies for the long term. IMA, as the leading global organization focused on advancing competencies in management accounting, has an obligation to support society and the public interest in times like this,” states Hanady Khalife, Director of Operations, IMA Middle East/Africa region.
The CMA is IMA’s flagship certification and is the leading management accounting credential in the world, as evidenced by its rapid growth not only in the number of certifications earned, but also in terms of respect and influence.
“The competencies covered by the CMA program, as well as IMA’s educational programs, in many ways promote resiliency and drive professionals to innovate and create value for their organizations. These competencies will serve management accountants well in good times and in bad, arguably more so in the latter because CMAs bring to their organizations relevant and differentiated advanced skills sets,” adds Khalife.
Globally, more than 6,000 new candidates have enrolled in the CMA program so far in Fiscal Year 2017. There are more than 30,000 candidates in the CMA pipeline reflecting an annualized growth rate of 17% year-over-year growth through December 2016 in new CMA candidates. In the Middle East/Africa region, the IMA has 14,349 members, of which 2,506 are CMAs.
Aside from getting a complimentary one-year membership, new CMA registrants also have a chance to earn one of five available scholarship grants for parts one and two of the CMA exam. Thus, new registrants will save US$ 245 while five CMA candidates can save as much as US$ 1,075 with this offer. The offer is available until February 11, 2017.
