ME Newswire / Businesswire

NEW YORK - Saturday, November 16th 2013

Moody's Corporation (NYSE:MCO) today announced that it has made a

$50,000 donation to the American Red Cross through its philanthropic

arm, The Moody’s Foundation, to support relief efforts for victims of

Typhoon Haiyan (known locally as Typhoon Yolanda) in the Philippines

and surrounding areas.

“Our thoughts are with the people of the Philippines and their families

around the world as they begin to recover from his tragic event. We

encourage everyone who is able to contribute to the relief and

rebuilding effort,” said Frances Laserson, President of The Moody’s

Foundation.

In addition, Moody’s is encouraging its employees to donate to the

relief effort by offering to match the donations they make to eligible

charity organizations via its matching gift program.

The American Red Cross is part of the global Red Cross/Red Cresent

network, the world’s largest humanitarian network, with 13 million

volunteers in 187 countries. The funds will be used to support Red

Cross operations providing shelter, food, and emotional support in the

Philippines.

The Moody’s Foundation and Moody’s employees around the world have

previously supported disaster relief, such as for Hurricane Sandy, the

2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
