TOKYO - Wednesday, August 20th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Toshiba Tec (TOKYO:6588) today announced that it has received two notable awards for its unique eco-friendly e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 that lets customers reuse office paper for multiple printing.

The Toshiba e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 has been awarded as a gold winner in the category Most Innovative Product of the Year by Best in Biz 2014 International. Best in Biz 2014 is an independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts. Subsequently in Australia, being recognized as an eco-product that demonstrate product leadership offering a point of difference from its competitors, the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 has been named an ABA100 winner for the Best Eco Product in The Australian Business Awards 2014.

Toshiba Tec accentuates green attributes in ‘Unique Differentiations’, its essential strategy in the printing business. The e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 is an innovative multi-function device consisting of a printer with erasable toner and an erasing device, which allows paper to be reused multiple times. The e-STUDIO306LP prints documents with an erasable, blue toner while the e-STUDIO RD30 erases the identifiable print from paper. At the same time, a scan function allows documents to be scanned and archived to a designated file location, before the print is erased. By turning paper into a reusable resource, Toshiba’s e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 drastically reduces the environmental impacts associated with printing and copying, offering up to 50% reductions in CO2 emission and 80% reductions in paper use.

Since the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 was released, it has helped various companies to meet the increasing demand to be sustainable and limited the use of resources. The e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 has developed a powerful reputation for being a unique green printing solution which significantly reduces paper usage. Customers - spanning from logistics and manufacturing to government offices - noticed considerable paper reductions when using the system to print temporary, internal documents. In the case of an Australian logistics user, a drastic reduction as high as 90% was reported. Toshiba’s valuable customers have experienced that the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30, like no other system, contributes to aligning their business goals with environmental responsibilities.

The 2014 awards honour Toshiba’s e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 across the globe for its innovative use of technology to not only drive great value for customers but also make a green impact on their business. In 2013, the e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 already received several awards such as the “METI Minister’s Awards of Green IT Award 2013”and “Cho (Super) MONODZUKURI Innovative Parts and Components Awards 2013” for its ground-breaking solution which reduces environmental burden as well as improves operational efficiency.

While being proud of the awards received, we know we can do better. We have a big responsibility to help our customers to achieve a smaller footprint. With the passion of leading innovation, we are striving to enrich our reputation by introducing Toshiba e-STUDIO306LP/RD30 to more customers.
