Saif bin Zayed Calls for promoting the well-being and protection of youth

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior stressed that the success of any nation depends upon the proper upbringing of the younger generation, stressing the need for concerted efforts between the different community sectors and institutions to ensure the necessary protection for children against potential risks; and to motivate them to show creativity, innovation and excellence in their practical live, with the start of the new school year. His Highness Sheikh Saif also commended the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Education, and the leading role of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) in boosting young people’s education and academic attainment, and achieving a distinguished qualitative leap in education in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

These remarks were made by His Highness during a visit to Hamdan bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi, as a part of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program. During his tour of the school’s various facilities and scientific laboratories, Sheikh Saif reviewed the creative projects submitted by students and exchanged views with them on a number of scientific issues and their experiences, which denote unique talents that augur well for the future.

Sheikh Saif also met with students enrolled in the music class, where he admired their creative performances. He was given an overview of the school’s features within the Future Schools Project to transform education. Sheikh Saif expressed admiration for the successive developments in the educational process, thanks to the unrelenting support of the higher leadership.

His Highness praised the numerous awareness campaigns for students undertaken by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), most notably the social media campaigns: “Journey of Discovery – Innovation” and “WayaAyalna” (with our children), to engage parents and encourage them to support their children’s innovative efforts, which earned the admiration and participation of thousands of parents and community members. Sheikh Saif also stressed the importance of cooperation amongst institutions and parents to serve the noble objectives of these campaigns.

Adding further, Sheikh Saif said: “Inspired and guided by the wise vision of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who called for lending full support to all initiatives designed to involve the community in the efforts to nurture the scientific knowledge of children. His Highness also called for dedicating attention to innovators by helping them overcome potential obstacles, in order to enable them to attain advanced scientific levels in all areas of modern technology and innovation; and to elevate the UAE at international forums.”

Sheiks Saif also noted: “The diligent commitment from the various educational entities to advance education and protect the youth is a true reflection of the wise approach envisioned by our government, always looking forward to the future, to cater to the needs of its sons and daughters and to find innovative solutions to potential challenges.” Sheikh Saif pointed out that the higher leadership has dedicated all available resources to advance the Emirati citizens, and allow them to compete with confidence locally and internationally.

Adding further, His Highness noted that the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program was designed to further advance the educational process, which directly serves the interests of students, in response to the higher leadership’s directives. He also noted that the program reflects the commitment of 50 ministries and federal and local authorities that are working to achieve its goals at the countrywide level. It includes an array of extensive activities to promote awareness and national identity over the course of the academic year.

His Highness Sheikh Saif was accompanied during the tour, by Her Excellency Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council; Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program; H.E. Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, ADEC's Executive Director of School Operations; Engineer Hamad Al Dhaheri, Executive Director at ADEC’s Private Schools and Quality Assurance Sector ; and Dr. Yousuf Al Sheriani, Education Advisor to the Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), along with a number of officials and heads of departments at ADEC.

H.E Amal Al Qubaisi: An Exceptional Visit from an Exceptional Leader

H.E Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, hailed the support of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to upgrade and advance education in the UAE. She pointed out that the visit of His Highness to Hamdan bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi in line with “Journey of Discovery - Innovation” and “WayaAyalna” (with our children) campaigns, exemplifies the keenness of the wise leadership to provide the necessary resources  to nurture a conscious generation and preserve the gains of the UAE. She stressed that this thoughtful visit augurs well for the new academic year, which promises to be full of success and innovation.

H.E. Dr. Al Qubaisi said: “This exceptional visit by an exceptional leader is a source of pride for the educational sector and students. It is also a motivation for students to excel in their studies, and encourage them to unleash their skills and potential. It also provides a valuable opportunity for parents to make the journey towards the future with their children, and assist them in their educational journey.” She also noted that Sheikh Saif’s visit is an incentive for the academic and administrative faculty towards achieving further excellence and leadership.

H.E. Dr. Al Qubaisi also commended His Highness’s unrelenting attention to students, and his keenness to provide the highest levels of security and safety for students and educational staffers within inside and outside schools. She added: “This dedicated attention was clearly evident in the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to raise awareness of students, parents, and faculty in public and private schools and provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to protect them from the various types of objectionable ideas.”

Dr. Al Qubaisi also hailed the leading role of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar” and its importance in promoting the national identity amongst students.  She also praised the community police, which made important achievements, thanks to the follow-up of His Highness, which ultimately reflected positively on the UAE society and the educational field in particular.

Dr. Al Qubaisi also stressed that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Saif reflects the need to reinforce the values of loyalty, belonging, hard work, and excellence that are advocated by the leader of excellence. She hailed Sheikh Saif’s efforts in supporting “Journey of Discovery - Innovation” and “WayaAyalna” (with our children) campaigns, and his initiative to ensure the success of ADEC’s educational initiatives, as well as His Highness’s unrelenting effort to encourage the participation of parents in order to reach the goals and objectives of the campaign.

In conclusion, H.E. Dr. Al Qubaisi added that His Highness Sheikh Saif is keen to promote the values of good citizenship, love of the country, and appreciation for teachers and their role in society, as well as the valuable role of the administrative and technical bodies to develop education.
