Mother of the Nation Condemns Al Reem Crime and Offers Condolences to Sons of Victim

Calling Upon the Sons and Daughters to Confront all Forms of Extremism

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 9th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU) and of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), condemned the heinous crime that targeted an innocent children’s teacher that took place in Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. Her Highness hailed the efforts of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the speed in which the ambiguity of the crime was solved, and the record time in which the suspect was apprehended. Her Highness called upon her sons and daughters in the UAE community to further come together in harmony and to confront the extremist ideology and terrorism in all of its forms and levels - for these threats aim to undermine the security and stability enjoyed by the UAE.

Her Highness expressed her deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim, and directed to provide all means necessary to help soothe the hearts of the victim’s sons and to alleviate the trauma incurred from such a heinous crime – a crime that deprived these young children from the love of their mother in a stage where the care and attention of a mother are most needed.

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak added that the act of this murderous woman “is a far cry from the values of humanity, and in no way represents the prevailing image of an Emirati woman – for the Emirati woman is an exemplary model of behavior through her love of goodness, peace, sophistication, and harmony.” Her Highness called upon her sons and daughters in the wider UAE community not to be deceived by misleading ideals that offend the prestigious image of the Emirati community and to confront anything that may harm the stature of the UAE both regionally and internationally. She also prayed to Allah Almighty to protect the UAE, its leadership, and its people; to safeguard and look after all from harm, so that the UAE may forever remain a land of goodness, peace, and love.

Under the guidance of Her Highness, Her Excellency Dr. Maitha Salem Alshamsi, Minister of State, and Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), visited the sons of the victim on Monday and offered Her Highness’ condolences and strict condemnation of the crime – a crime that is unprecedented in such a safe community. They also expressed Her Highness’ willingness to provide all of the support and attention needed to alleviate their suffering in an effort to help them begin building their future and be safely guided.

The consolation and visit of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak largely impacted the hearts of the victim’s children, who showed their appreciation and gratitude for this humanitarian gesture that contributed to alleviating the pain and providing more strength to overcome this ordeal.
