Over the past two days, the Selection and Recruitment Department of the Directorate General of Human Resources at the Abu Dhabi Police has been participating in a job fair organized by the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) for students and recent graduates. The fair is being held at both the male and female HCT campuses located in Abu Dhabi, with government and private sector institutions participating in the exhibitions.
Major Sultan Al Shamesi, Chief of the Polarization Section at the Selection and Recruitment Department, pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Police annually participate in the job fairs organized by the HCT in a bid to attract and provide opportunities for UAE nationals. “By exhibiting at these job fairs, students and recent graduates are introduced to the career opportunities and advantages that are provided when working in the various departments of the Abu Dhabi Police,” he said.
The Selection and Recruitment Department team provided attendees with an overview regarding the methods and procedures for enrolling at Abu Dhabi Police. The team distributed descriptive brochures regarding the tasks that are usually involved in military and civilian police work and additionally handed out commemorative gifts.
On a side note, during the exhibition held at the HCT job fair in Al Ain, the pavilion of the Abu Dhabi Police witnessed a significant turnout of Emirati students and graduates. It is noteworthy that the number of male and female applicants wishing to enroll in the police amounted to nearly 200 applications.
The participation of the Abu Dhabi Police in job fairs embodies their keenness to not only attract eligible UAE nationals, but to also promote Emiratisation within the ranks of the female and male members of the police force.
