ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, April 22nd 2015 [ME NewsWire]
Major General Omair Al Muhairi, Director of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), urged officers and staff members working at Al Shabia Police Station, affiliated with the Capital Police Directorate, to ensure that customer transactions are processed promptly and accurately and to streamline their procedures using innovative and modern technology means. He also urged them to constantly strive to improve performance, develop programs and boost productivity by implementing a scientific methodology; in addition to reinforcing cooperation and communication with partners within their community.
Major General Al Muhairi reiterated the keen interest of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, towards providing an optimal work environment at the different comprehensive police stations, with the aim of supporting the development process, by building staff members’ capabilities.
Major General Al Muhairi reminded the station's officers and staff members of the importance of furthering communication with members of the public and catering to their needs with high-end services. He also reiterated the need for interaction with the various internal and external partners within the station’s jurisdiction, in line with the vision of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and the Ministry of Interior.
These remarks were made by Major General Al Muhairi, Director of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, during his inspection tour to Al Shabia Police Station. Major General Al Muhairi reviewed the military parade of staff, and urged the officers to persevere in the observance of discipline. He also reviewed the field work processes undertaken by the station’s staff members, as well as the efforts exerted to boost the quality and development of services rendered to the public; and then inspected the advanced technical systems used at the station.
It is worth mentioning that the tour falls in line with the inspection visits carried out by the Directorate General of Police Operations to its affiliated directorates and departments; with the objective of disseminating the responsibility and accountability policy; staff motivation, as well as ensuring follow-up of police field operations.
During the tour, Major General Omair Al Muhairi was accompanied by Brigadier General Salem Shahin Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate; Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Khalaf Al Dhaheri, Director of Al Shabia Police Station; First Lieutenant Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Investigation Branch Manager; and a number of Capital Police Directorate officers.
Major General Al Muhairi also inspected the station’s shooting range, which is equipped with an advanced virtual simulation system, designed to support criminal and training aspects of police field work. The state-of-the-art simulation system uses audio visual technology, which contributes to developing police personnel’s capabilities, by enabling them to deal with real life situations. This device allows accurate target practice via the simulation device, and provides different scenarios that offer police staff members the opportunity to acquire the necessary practical expertise.
Major General Al Muhairi was given a detailed briefing by Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Al Dhaheri, Director of Al Shabia Police Station, about the Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) that is being used for the first time in the UAE by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The MDT was recently introduced to Al Shabia Police Station, and efficiently supports field work. It features a mapping interface that displays instant mapping and information relevant to the task, to allow timely arrival of the police patrol to the incident’s location in the shortest possible time. This device significantly reduces response time according to the best international standards and practices adopted by Abu Dhabi Police.
Major General Al Muhairi also visited the miniature operations room at Al Shabia Police Station, which provides information to on-site patrols within the Al Shabia Police Station’s jurisdiction. He also reviewed the workflow at the Criminal Investigations and Community Police branches.
