The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), represented by the Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs Department, concluded the ‘Friends of the Police’ Program in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi for children of officers, noncommissioned officers, and civilians working at the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. A total of 318 male and female students, aged between 7 and 14 years of age, participated in the program, which is organized during the second semester break; of whom, 166 participated in Abu Dhabi and 152 participated in Al Ain.
The closing ceremony, which took place at the Police Officers Club in Al Ain, was attended by Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili, Deputy Head of the Clubs Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, in the presence of a number of officers, parents and students.
Colonel Al Khaili honored the students and collaborators. In his address on this occasion, he stressed the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to organize purposeful and beneficial programs and activities that serve the various segments of society, and to invest students’ leisure time during the school break and empowering them with useful, educational and sports activities and boosting their security culture.
In Abu Dhabi, the closing ceremony was attended by Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamesi, Chief of the Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs Department of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. Colonel Al Shamesi noted that the second semester break program included an array of beneficial and recreational activities. “As a part of the program, students toured a number of police departments. They also made field visits to the Al Samaliya traditional village to learn about the heritage of their parents and forefathers, in addition to engaging in traditional scholastic activities such as horse riding; and visiting shopping centers and entertainment parks. Students also enjoyed various police dog performances,” indicated Colonel Al Shamesi.
