Printronix Names New CEO

For just the third time in company’s 40-year history, Printronix announces new CEO, Werner Heid, effective March 30th, 2015

IRVINE, Calif. - Tuesday, March 31st 2015 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE) - Printronix, Inc. announced its Board of Directors has appointed Werner Heid as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board effective immediately. Werner succeeds Randy Eisenbach, who is retiring as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board.

“Leadership succession planning has been a key effort by the Board upon Randy’s decision to retire and we are excited to have Werner join the team. After an extensive search, we found a proven leader with deep printing industry expertise from his 12 years in senior executive roles at Hewlett Packard’s printer division and with strong CEO experience while at Iomega and Proxima. We look forward to working with Werner and the rest of the leadership team to continue this company’s success,” said Dan Allen, Chairman of Printronix’s Board of Directors. “The Board wants to thank Randy for his many accomplishments and contributions; he has guided Printronix to a solid foundation for future success.”

Prior to joining Printronix, Heid held position as Senior VP at Logitech (NASDAQ: LOGI), where he strengthened Logitech’s worldwide consumer channel franchise and transformed the sales & marketing organization into a consumer-centric organization. Prior to Logitech, Heid served as CEO of Iomega (NYSE: IOM), where he led a wide-scale corporate turn-around by creating a new line of innovation products and capitalizing on Iomega’s brand to return the company to sustainable profitability.

Heid also was President of Proxima (NASDAQ: PRXM), where he doubled sales in eighteen months, ahead of Proxima’s merger in 2001 with InFocus (NASDAQ: INFS); and then served as Executive Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing for the combined company, navigating them to the undisputed market leader position.

Previously, Heid held various executive positions at Hewlett Packard, including running HP’s European LaserJet & Printing Supplies division, as well as introduced HP’s “All-in-One” OfficeJet worldwide.

He has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. He resides in Southern California with his family and is an active member of the community.

Heid commented on his appointment: “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Printronix, a company with a rich heritage of delivering innovative solutions to enterprise customers globally. We truly have great customers and partners and I look forward to expanding on the foundation of developing solutions that enable the accurate movement of goods along our industrial customers’ supply chains and bring sustainable growth to the company.”
