Saif Bin Zayed: Proud of the UAE Sons and Daughters

Following the inauguration of the Emirates Driving Company new Headquarters in Al Ain

Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke of his pride in the national cadres and the efforts they make in support of the UAE’s quest for progress and development. He said, “We are delighted to see that the UAE sons and daughters are playing vital roles in all facilities of the Emirates Driving Company and are in charge of training students on using the latest available techniques”.

These statements were made by His Highness Sheikh Saif following the inauguration by H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, of the new headquarters of the Emirates Driving Company located in Al Khrair area in Al Ain, in the presence of HH Sheikh Suroor Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.

Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan called upon the Emirates Driving Company to further     modernize and develop training programs aimed at qualifying individuals and teaching them the proper way to drive vehicles, in line with safe driving rules.

His Highness also stressed the UAE government’s keenness to ensure a high-quality of life for the community of the UAE, which embodies the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior. The strategic plan aims to provide excellent services to enhance public trust and to achieve customer satisfaction in the services that have been provided, of which are in accordance with the best international standards. He pointed out that economic status and economic development are increasingly linked with the movement of vehicles and level of drivers, as they reflect the civilized image of developed countries; and promote the efforts to enhance traffic safety as per international best standards.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Undersecretary of the Diwan of the Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region;  Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police and member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Driving Company;  Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Chairman of Emirates Driving Company; Rashid Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of Emirates Driving Company; Khalid Khalifa Al Mansouri, CEO of the company; and a number of officers.

For his part, Khalid Khalifa Al Mansouri, CEO of the Emirates Driving Company said, “The Emirates Driving Company has started providing its services in the city of Al Ain at its new headquarters built in Al Khrair area. The total area of the new headquarters is approximately 321,549 square meters, and houses theoretical training halls that are equipped with the latest technologies; a wide range of sections sections and service facilities, in addition to a field for practical training. All of these facilities provide a suitable environment for students as they receive training on both theoretical and practical applications”.

The Emirates Driving Company provides world-class driver’s training services. Instructors would beam down instructions by radio from control towers around the course, to trainees driving solo, under constant monitoring to guarantee the safety of trainees. The Emirates Driving Company facilities house  several halls that are equipped with the best technical equipment such as simulators, which allow new students to experiment virtual driving through several scenarios facing bad weather such as rain and fog, and reacting to unexpected obstacles to assess their reactions.  Hands-on training on these devices is supported by extensive explanation provided by specialized and qualified trainers, based on high-end training methodologies that are in line with the major international and local expertise in the field of traffic safety.

The company also provides Safety Halls that allow students to experience different safety devices, such as the toppled car, which acquaints students with the importance of wearing seatbelts. There are special halls available within the company’s facilities, to allow students to identify the different parts of the vehicle, using a fully transparent replica of a car.  The company has also prepared training courses aimed at qualifying school bus drivers to help maintain children’s safety; as well as other training courses for defensive and desert driving.
