Sectorial Meeting and Re-activation of Event Survey Initiative to be held May 11

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia - Wednesday, March 18th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

During its regular February meeting, the Event Organization Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (JCCI) decided that the sectorial meeting to gather all businesses in the sector will be held in the Jeddah Province on 11 May, 2015. The meeting is to take place at the Charmber’s Juffali Hall from 11 am to 2 p.m. The February meeting was held in the presence of Firas Adel Al Maddah, President of the Committee; Abdulwahab Mahmoud Baghdadi, Vice Chairman; Committee members Khaled Hashim Naqro; Yasser Mahmoud Bakr; Osama Abdulaziz Sarhan and Mahmoud Ahmed Al Awadhi; along with Mohammed Saif, Director of the Chamber’s Tourism Sector; and Committee Rapporteur Rakan Al Barakati.

The Members stressed the importance of re-activating and deploying the two initiatives previously launched to survey the public, and called for all materials related to events within the province of Jeddah to be published via all communication channels of the Chamber and through: www.eventssaudi.info.

Following the direct request from the General Secretariat of the Chamber of Commerce, the Event Organization Committee recommended establishing a seat for the Committee in all legislative and executive committees in all major forums held in the Jeddah Province provided that the representative of the Committee is not considered to be a competing party for the organization of the event. The applicable major forums include, but are not excluded to: Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF), Jeddah Ghair Festival, Jeddah Shopping Festival, and the Jeddah Commercial Forum, among others.

Firas Adel Al Maddah, President of the Committee, mentioned that the current session will witness a limited but active number of initiatives, and noted that the Committee is currently witnessing unprecedented activity due to the clarity of the Committee’s activities.

Commenting on the membership of the Committee in the executive committees of major forums, Al Maddah said: “The experienced professionals of the Committee are capable of elevating the level of such events by virtue of their experience and knowledge. I do not believe that their participation in these committees is contrary to the interests or effectiveness of the forum’s executive committee, as this participation will never contend with the parties who are hosting the event.”
