The Abu Dhabi Police carried out a training course for Hazmat liaison officers and inspectors from the General Directorate of Customs. The course aims at improving customs employees’ response to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) accidents and emergencies.
Colonel Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department, at the Directorate General of Central Operation, Abu Dhabi Police, explained that employees received theoretical and practical training on the proper ways to respond to CBRN-related emergency incidents. “The course’s program included a definition and types of CBRN materials, the required equipment for detection and handling of CBRN materials and a hands-on training on operating life-size equipment,” he said.
Colonel Al Ameri also noted that the course reflects the commitment of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to implementing its vision, to ensure that the emirate of Abu Dhabi remains a society that enjoys safety and security, by providing high-quality police services to the citizens, residents and visitors of the emirate.
