Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed the importance of building distinguished police capacity based on innovation and knowledge. He also called upon police leaders to further drive the process of development and modernization in police and security work.
These remarks were made by His Highness while chairing the meeting of the Abu Dhabi Police Higher Command Committee, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ). During the meeting, Sheikh Saif was briefed by the team of the UAE Government Leaders program on the ‘Leader of the 21st Century’ model. The presentation was made by Abdullah Bin Touq, Executive Director of Excellence and Leadership in the Prime Minister's Office; by which he reviewed the basics and mechanisms of the program that was designed by the UAE government to achieve a quantum leap in national capacity building, to strengthen the competencies and leadership skills of national cadres at the federal government level. The meeting also tackled the most important challenges that leaders face in governmental work and ways to support governmental entities in attracting the best national competencies.
It is worth mentioning that the Leader of the 21st Century model aims to bring the capacity-building process to qualify leaders at the federal government to the next level, by choosing the most promising young leaders who will be provided with extensive leadership training programs to hone their skills and prepare them to evolve as distinguished leaders at the national, regional and global levels.
The meeting was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police; and Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Commander-in-Chief of the Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior. Also attending were Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier General Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Deputy Director of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior; along with a number of heads of departments, senior officers, members of the work team from the Prime Minister's Office.
