- Holy Eden Church to open a culture and art auditorium of a 5,800-seat capacity, to apply for listing in the Guinness Book of World Records
SEOUL, South Korea - Thursday, September 17th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)--The world’s largest indoor culture and art auditorium will soon be open in Korea.
The auditorium named ‘Korea Culture Center’ is being built and is scheduled to open in the Holy Eden Church’s (President: Young-soo Lee) premises, an hour’s drive from Seoul. It is as high as an 18-story building, and has a 5,800-seat capacity in the gross floor space of about 70,000 m2.
Comparing with ‘National Center for the Performing Arts’ in Beijing China, which has been known as the world-largest so far (149,520 m2, 5,473 seats), the ‘Culture Center’ is smaller in the gross floor area, but has 327 more seats. Considering the annexes, the ‘Culture Center’ (280,000 m2) is twice as large as ‘National Center for the Performing Arts’ in terms of gross floor area.
The premises of Holy Eden Church, where ‘Culture Center’ is located, have 36 leisure and sport facilities including 600-seat international tennis court and 5-star hotel with 550 rooms, which are to be opened soon, as well as a soccer field and a baseball field, both complying with the international standard.
The church is planning to develop this auditorium as the landmark of Korea, by attracting K-Pop concerts, international performances. The church is considering applying for listing of this auditorium in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The auditorium was designed by Young-soo Lee, and has been constructed for about 5 years under the supervision of Lee after 10 years of preparation.
The ceiling of Korea Culture Center has over 480,000 bulbs, representing the 6 galaxies, and 4,500 colorful LEDs, showing the mystery and wonder of the universe.
At the center of the ceiling is a golden image of ‘Young-soo Lee having an audience with the God at the spiritual world.’ On the 6th and 7th floors, the 32 pictures contained in the pictorial published recently by Lee are exhibited.
Holy Eden Church is a newly-risen Christian body founded by president Young-soo Lee at Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul in 1973. The church, currently having 30 local holy meetings, has been a foundation registered in the Korean government since March 5, 1996.
