Previously Serving as CEO, Americas for Xaxis, Gleason Succeeds Brian Lesser Who Moves to GroupM as CEO, North America
NEW YORK - Friday, November 6th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and technology platform, announced today the promotion of Brian Gleason to serve as global chief executive officer. Gleason was previously CEO, Americas for Xaxis where he led the company’s operations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, more than doubling revenues for the region over the past two years. As global CEO, Gleason will be responsible for guiding overall company strategy, growth and client development operations. He succeeds Brian Lesser in the position who has been promoted to GroupM to serve as CEO, North America.
In his earlier role as CEO, Americas, Gleason was responsible for overseeing major company initiatives as well as the implementation of several ad industry firsts. This has included the launch of Xaxis Prime, the first fully programmatic product to guarantee human viewership for advertisers’ digital brand campaigns; the rollout of the company’s direct business in Canada and Mexico; the development of a suite of vertical industry solutions; and the integration of the Xaxis and 24/7 North America operations following the companies’ merger.
“Brian (Gleason) has been exemplary in managing Xaxis in the largest and most competitive market in the world and we are pleased to welcome his leadership as global CEO of Xaxis,” said Colin Barlow, global chief operating officer for GroupM. “His understanding of the issues that are important to advertisers and publishers along with the central role he has played in the development and ongoing refinement of the programmatic media landscape makes him an ideal choice for the role. We look for Xaxis to continue to push the boundaries of capability, performance and results under his watch.”
Prior to Xaxis, Gleason served as group chief revenue officer for IDG TechNetwork and IDG Consumer & SMB where he led sales, marketing, publisher development and programmatic efforts across the more than 550 sites encompassed within the two networks. As CRO, he was instrumental in launching IDG’s Tech Media Exchange, the first private advertising exchange in the technology market, and was also responsible for overseeing ad product development efforts across display, video and mobile advertising channels.
“Xaxis has built the industry’s most powerful, effective and accountable programmatic media platform with a focus on delivering unsurpassed value to clients,” said Gleason. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our incredibly talented team in this next stage of our development.”
