Anti-Smoking Lecture at ADP Punitive and Correctional Establishments

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, June 7th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

In the event of the World No Tobacco Day, the Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Abu Dhabi Police acquainted inmates about the dangers of smoking. This event was organized by the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department.

Dr. Jamil Al Wahdan from the Medical Services Department explained the damages and negative impacts caused by this bad habit during a lecture entitled ‘Make your Decision, Start your Life… Control it yourself’. He revealed the harmful material included in one cigarette, the manufacturing process of cigarettes, their high content of harmful material, and the diseases affecting the entire body as a result of smoking. He then noted that smoking is a major cause for early ageing, and that quitting is the perfect solution.

Instructional brochures were finally distributed over inmates to inform them about the dangers resulting from smoking, and the symptoms smokers face.
