The Directorate General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has undertaken the distribution of Iftar meals to Abu Dhabi City road users shortly before the maghrib (sunset). This initiative is taking place in cooperation with the Emirates Youth Council.
Colonel Mubarak Awad Bin Muhairom, Director General of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention, pointed up the importance of spreading the solidarity and bestowal spirits between society members during this holy month. He also highlighted other supreme intentions and higher values that ought to be implanted in the spirits of our children, especially the young among them. He assured that the Iftar meals’ distribution over drivers enshrines the solid humanitarian values of our citizens who are always keen to adopt the methodology established by HH Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Colonel Bin Muhairom explained that such a charitable initiative, which is executed by members of both sexes from the Directorate General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention and the Emirates Youth Council, plays an important part in reviving the solidarity values embodies by the holy month of Ramadan and its belief ambiance. The initiative also aims at preventing drivers from exceeding speed limits to catch up with the Iftar meal, and avoiding traffic accidents that could cause losses in lives and properties.
“This initiative is also held within the framework of the Directorate General’s keenness to execute our Leadership’s instructions, and to embody the social partnership and responsibility with institutions and individuals through the participation and interaction with different activities and events,” he added.
Bin Muhairom praised the Emirates Youth Council’s particular role in this initiative and overall efforts to enable the youth’s positive participation. He also admired the Council’s participation in increasing the youth’s patriotism and good citizenship values.
