The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ will take part in the Liwa International Festival “Tel Moreeb” scheduled to kick start tomorrow, Saturday, in the Western region, and will run until January 9. The Abu Dhabi Police will provide security and regulatory services, while maintaining the safety of participants and visitors alike. Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Police will showcase its old and new patrols, which document the historic stages of the Abu Dhabi Police evolution. In his address on the occasion, Colonel Ojail Ali Abdullah, Director of the Western Region Police, stressed that the participation of Abu Dhabi Police in Liwa International Festival and Tal Moreeb Race is in pursuance of the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ aimed at promoting effective participation of the Police in various societal events and strengthen its relations with community’s members, institutions, and events. “The Western Police completed preparations for participation in the events, by providing outstanding services and police protection to the Festival site, participants and visitors,” indicated Colonel Abdullah.
Adding further, the Director of the Western Region Police noted that the traffic patrols will work to secure the road between the Liwa Festival and Tal Moreeb sites, maintain smooth traffic flow, and secure and organize parking spaces. Moreover, he pointed to the Community Police’s efforts during the festival, by deploying foot patrols, promoting and spreading culture awareness among participants and visitors, and urging them to comply with the security and safety procedures and requirements.
Adding further, he warned participants in the Tal Moreeb Race against venturing out into the sandy desert to maintain their safety. He also called upon them to activate their GPS systems to allow search teams to locate their whereabouts in case of emergency, and call the number (999) to report any emergency or to enquire about the police services.
For his part, First Lieutenant Mubarak Ghanim Al Mansouri, Media Campaigns Branch Manager at the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said, “In addition to providing security and organizational support to the festival, the Abu Dhabi Police will be distributing awareness brochures at the festival, and showcasing the Abu Dhabi Police’s old and modern patrol cars, which document the historic stages of the Abu Dhabi Police evolution.”
