Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, January 23rd 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by Al Ain Traffic Section, took part in the traffic safety exhibition organized by Mazyad Elementary School (First grade), under the slogan “Get to Know us”, in Al Ain.
The students enthusiastically interacted with the traffic programs and activities initiated by the Abu Dhabi Police, notably the remote control car, a miniature model with the same shape and color of the ADP police patrols, operated via an iPad. These activities and programs are designed to compel the interest of students and enhance their awareness, in a bid to achieve the highest levels of traffic safety.
This participation comes in line with the “Best School at Traffic Safety” initiative launched by the Directorate as part of its community-based initiatives. These initiatives aim at enhancing awareness and traffic education in the educational sector, by involving educational and administrative bodies, as well as students, in the process of preparing traffic-related activities, programs and exhibitions.
In his address on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition on Thursday, Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, reiterated the keenness the directorate to participating in such events. “The directorate strives unremittingly to interact with the various government and private institutions, particularly with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, and the school community sector of all education stages,” he said.
Adding further, Colonel Al Bloushi underscored the importance of promoting the traffic safety awareness and spreading it among the various segments of society, especially school students, who represent the most important target group of the awareness process. “This would contribute to fostering a conscious generation, instilled with respect for traffic laws,” he continued.
Moreover, the Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department noted that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ endeavors to inculcate the concept of community partnership, in a bid to create a high level of security and traffic education, which ultimately yields a traffic safe society.
For his part, Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Acting Chief of Al Ain Traffic Section, said: “As part of its participation in the Mazyad Elementary School’s exhibition, the section, represented by the Public Relations Branch, hosted a pavilion that displayed the special patrol vehicles in charge of traffic education and awareness. The officers in charge of the pavilion also distributed traffic-related awareness leaflets and gifts to the visitors.” Traffic awareness lectures and contests for students were also organized at the Al Ain Traffic Section’s pavilion, and were highly acclaimed by the public.
Mrs. Moza Salem Al Kendi, director of the Mazyad Elementary School said: “The exhibition hosted by the school has garnered remarkable attention from the attendees. During this awareness-oriented exhibition, the school launched an awareness program titled ‘Achieving a School Abiding with Traffic Rules’ focused on boosting safety and security of students. This program comes in line with the ‘Best School at Traffic Safety’ initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council.”
Adding further, Mrs. Al Kendi noted that the exhibition, held under the slogan “Get to Know us”, in cooperation and coordination with Al Ain Traffic Section featured the participation of the Abu Dhabi Police’s Air Wing, Security Inspection (k9), and Emergency and Public Safety Departments. “The key objective of this exhibition is to acquaint students and attendees with the array of services provided by the police to the community,” she continued.
In conclusion, Mrs. Al Kendi praised the efforts exerted by the Abu Dhabi Police, as well as the efforts made by the various individuals and institutions, which have contributed to the success of the program and the traffic safety exhibition.
