The Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi recently organized a lecture about the knowledge exchange process. The lecture was attended by Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; Colonel Yusuf Ismail Khouri, Deputy Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; along with heads of departments and chiefs of sections. The lecture that took place at the headquarters of the Emirates Institute for Nationality, Residency and Ports, was delivered by Colonel Saeed Salem Balhas Al Shamesi, Head of the Information and Follow-up Department. The lecture is held within the framework of the “Share my Knowledge” initiative, recently launched by the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior. The initiative aims at exchanging and promoting knowledge transfer amongst staff members, to leverage the expertise of former leaders in various police work fields in order to serve the development of organizational excellence and improve the indicators of job performance. The lecturer tackled the best means to acquire, assess and disseminate knowledge to serve the work purposes. He also highlighted the types of knowledge, the objectives of knowledge management and the optimal means to avail of knowledge in order to overcome obstacles; contribute to strategic planning; and take the appropriate decisions within the institution.
