Lt. Colonel Al Maskari stated that the customer satisfaction rate stood at 97.2 percent in 2014, “which reflects the effectiveness of the operational plan that embodies the quality police and aims to achieve the objectives and speed of response of the Operations Room.” He continued by pointing out that Operations Room is equipped with 22 technical systems and programs that cover all of the specialized security platforms in accordance with the best administrative and technical applications that include the development and operations of the systems and the response of the Operations Room.
“The police leadership are committed to spreading the overall culture of quality work as a basis for institutional development to sustain the development methodology of security departments and to further improve distinguished, unique, and accessible police services,” he said. “It is imperative that we always strive to raise our security staff members’ levels of efficiency and performance by providing quality opportunities to develop their professional conduct. Major Issa Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Strategic Planning Branch Manager at the Operations Department, explained that the administrative experience gained by running the Excellence Laboratory has contributed to the achievement of the positive results reflected in performance indicators. The Excellence Laboratory conducted 110 opportunities for improvement through the 115 workshops that were attended by 1020 participants during 2014. “The added value in the management of strategic planning, excellence, and quality culminated in the achievement of the Operations Department in winning the third edition of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award in the ‘Commander Category’ for Problem Solving. The Department also won the Environmental Management Systems Standard ISO 14001 and the OHSAS 18001 certification for Occupational Health and Safety management systems,” he said.
Additionally, Major Al Marzouqi stressed the commitment of the Operations Department to implement a series of brainstorming sessions and focus groups at the Excellence Laboratory. The sessions and groups gather to discuss methods of communication alongside analyzing reports of the operations and identifying areas of opportunity and suitable projects for further development.
“The Operations Department strives to implement suitable interactive tools that help to achieve the projected objectives,” Major Al Marzouqi said. “The Excellence Laboratory has established the operational plan for developing an even more efficient response system in the Operations Room for this year.” He also indicated that forums will be organized for the Operations Room and the Excellence Laboratory. It is worth mentioning that the Excellence Laboratory has identified many creative initiatives and developmental proposals which include: the Organizational Excellence Diploma for Police, implementing the radar 999 model as a tool in the Excellence Laboratory, environmental practices, a training program for the employees of the Emirates Driving Company, focus group leaders, suggestions for strategic application to achieve the vision, and a governance model for the Excellence Laboratory.
