The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ concluded its participation in the Liwa International Festival “Tel Moreeb”, which kicked off on January 3 in the Western Region, and continued into Friday evening. The Abu Dhabi Police had participated in “Tel Moreeb” Festival with a set of awareness activities that enhanced interaction and communication with visitors to the Festival. Moreover, they showcased their old and new patrols, which document the historic stages of the Abu Dhabi Police evolution. For his part, Major Suhail Sayah Al Mazroui, Chief of the Western Region Traffic Section, noted that the Abu Dhabi Police achieved the coveted objectives of their participation, in terms of boosting traffic safety awareness, as well as urging participants and road users to abide by safety rules, legal speed limits and traffic law.
Adding further, Major Al Mazroui indicated that the Western Region Traffic Section has implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure traffic safety. “The section intensified patrols at the Festival site along with organizing traffic on roads and intersections leading up to the Festival site,” he added.
First Lieutenant Mubarak Ghanim Al Mansouri, Media Campaigns Branch Manager at the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that participation in this festival and other events is in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Police strategy, aimed at promoting the concept of safety for all, gaining the public's confidence in the police and the services they provide.
Furthermore, First Lieutenant Al Mansouri praised the public’s response, which contributed in ingraining the concept of safety for everyone, especially desert sports’ fans. He also highlighted the role of the Western Region Police in ensuring the success of the Festival. “The Western Region Police section has intensified police patrols to ensure compliance with the law and provided the utmost safety and security levels at the site. It also deployed Community Police foot patrols that distributed awareness-raising brochures to visitors,” he said.
Adding further, First Lieutenant Al Mansouri said that the Security Media Department has acquainted the public with the services provided by the Ministry of Interior, through the Ministry’s application (UAE MOI) on smart phones. “This application enables citizens to obtain these services anywhere anytime, without the hassle of visiting the service centers except for special cases that require personal presence, ultimately saving ample and precious time for citizens,” he explained. Moreover, he underlined that this initiative embodies the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to achieve the highest levels of secure services to customers, and to pursue further excellence to guarantee fast services and simplify procedures. At the conclusion of the festival, the Abu Dhabi police GHQ distributed gifts to the public.
