Eighth Sporting Event for MoI Staff Members Continues

Under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Eighth Sporting Event for the Ministry of Interior’s staff members continued. The events, organized by the Police Sports Association for the ministry’s staff members across its departments and sectors in Abu Dhabi, featured fierce competition in the various tournaments.
In the archery tournament for officers in the teams’ category, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector secured first place. The Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services’ sector was second runner-up and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior sector ranked third.
In the archery tournament for officers in the singles’ category, Captain Jamal Issa Al Saadi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first, followed by Major Abdullah Al Horr Al Suwaidi from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior sector and Major Saleh Ahmed Al Zayoudi from Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services’ sector took second and third places respectively.
In the archery tournament for women, in the singles category, Lieutenant Aisha Jamaa’ Taher from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first. Lieutenant Loulouwa Hassan Al Hammadi, from the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector and police officer Sahar Abdul Jalil Mohammed from the Police College sector took second and third places respectively.
In the pistol shooting tournament for men in the teams’ category, the The Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services’ sector secured first place. The Police College sector was second runner-up and the Directorate General of Civil Defense sector ranked third.
In the pistol shooting tournament for men in the singles’ category, First Assistant Jassem Mohammed Al Marzouqi, from the Directorate General of Civil Defense sector ranked first. First Assistant Ali Mohammed Obaid and Assistant Rashid Abdul Rahman Rashid, from from the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services’ sector took second and third places respectively.
In the swimming tournament, the singles’ category, Mohamed Ibrahim Al Dsouki from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first. Ismail Saad Al Ameri from the Directorate General of Civil Defense sector and Omar Ahmed Salem Al Mahri from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector took second and third places respectively.
In the running tournament in the teams of 30 years and above category, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior sector outperformed the other participants and secured first place, followed by the Directorate General of Civil Defense sector and the Police College in second and third places respectively.
In the running tournament for individuals of 30 years and above category, Hamza Nawaf Al Shibi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector took first place, followed by Nawaf Saud Al Dosari from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior’s sector ranked second and Ahmed Saeed Al Dhuhouri, from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked third.
In the running tournament for teams under the age of 30, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector secured first place, followed by the Directorate General of Civil Defense sector and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior’s sector in second and third places respectively.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, and Secretary General of the Police Sports Association, praised the generous patronage of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, which contributed significantly to the success of the events. He commended the high-level of technical performance demonstrated by the participants, which added momentum to the competition and honest rivalry between them.
Adding further, Colonel Al Dhaheri said that competitions are expected to grow fiercer in the coming days. He noted that the increased level of performance exhibited by both individuals and teams may positively highlight the importance of sports and exercise for the Ministry of Interior’s staff members. “Sports activity has a positive impact on character and contributes to physical fitness, mental well-being and social interaction. Our goal is to establish sports activity as an integral way of life for police staff members, as they need to be physically fit and healthy in order to carry out the challenging tasks and in turn, achieve higher productivity,” he concluded.
