A student delegation from the College of Law at the Al Ain University of Science and Technology (AAU) visited the Al Ain Section affiliated to the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department at Abu Dhabi Police. During the visit, the delegation was acquainted with the procedures and mechanisms of services and social care, in addition to the moral support provided to inmates. They were also introduced to the rehabilitation, reform and therapeutic role undertaken by the department for the benefit of inmates.
Students were briefed about the standards on treatment of inmates, and ways of providing service; in addition to the department’s role in post care and in the provision of job opportunities in coordination with its partners.
The delegation expressed appreciation for the valuable role undertaken by the department in order to provide care and rehabilitation for inmates. Students expressed their thanks to the department and to officials at the Al Ain Section for their good cooperation and warm welcome.
The delegation was accompanied by First Lieutenant Tarek Salem Al Alawi; First Lieutenant Ali Al Shamesi and Sergeant Nasser Al Hashemi from the Al Ain Punitive and Correctional Institutions Section.
This visit falls in line with Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to cooperate with educational institutions, community members and academic institutions.
