The Federal Criminal Police Implements ‘Share My Knowledge’ Initiative

The Directorate General of the Federal Criminal Police has launched the “Share My Knowledge” initiative. The initiative comes as response to the request of Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The initiative aims at exchanging and promoting knowledge transfer amongst staff members, leveraging the expertise of leaders in various police work fields in order to serve the organizational excellence by improving occupational performance indicators.

Colonel Hassan Rashid Al Shamesi, Head of the Federal Investigation Department at the Directorate General of the Federal Criminal Police, the Ministry of Interior, showcased his experience during his tenure at the Ministry's Anti-narcotics Department. Moreover, Colonel Al Shamesi highlighted the Ministry's efforts in the fight against drugs, as well as international cooperation and its mechanisms designed to curtail this dangerous scourge, and the importance of information exchange between countries to counter drug trafficking gangs.

Furthermore, the Director of the Federal Investigation Department shed the light on a number of international conventions and treaties signed between the UAE and anti-drug agencies. Colonel Al Shamesi reiterated the momentous importance of such conventions in providing valuable exchange of information and expertise among law enforcement authorities. He also stressed the need for cooperation between countries to combat this scourge, which undermines the security and stability of society.

Colonel Al Shamesi said, “Team work, performance of duties and courageous and distinguished initiatives are elements that contribute significantly to upgrading police work and positively affect staff members.” Adding further, he pointed out that the Directorate General of the Federal Criminal Police and its various entities are keen to leverage all aspects of explicit and implicit knowledge of all its distinguished staff members in its pursuit to achieve the Government’s aspirations in attaining a world-class stature."

Colonel Al Shamesi also emphasized the importance of knowledge networking between leaders and staff members, so as to fully leverage the expertise and knowledge in the creation of new knowledge. “This falls within the framework of the leadership's goal to support the principles of applying knowledge management,” he continued.

At the conclusion of the event, the floor was opened for discussions and Colonel Al Shamesi answered the questions and queries of the attendees.
