Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, November 21st 2014 [ME NewsWire]
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Al Ain Traffic Section, organized a traffic outreach program at the Liwa International School in Al Ain. The program featured a myriad of educational activities for children including traffic-related quizzes, as well as distribution of awareness publications about the importance of abiding by traffic rules and road safety rules and the means to avoid accidents. The program also acquainted students with the “Tathqeef” education patrols; a theatrical play on the main causes of traffic accidents with the help of a student. Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrol Directorate, noted that this participation is in pursuance of the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to disseminate and promote traffic safety, and reinforce awareness of all segments of society. “It also embodies the police leadership’s keenness to interact with the various societal events and to provide purposeful traffic-related information and education to community members, in a bid to achieve a comprehensive traffic culture,” added Colonel Al Bloushi.
First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Public Relations Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic Section, indicated that the children interacted positively with the different activities provided as a part of the program, which falls within the ongoing efforts to boost traffic awareness and education and to communicate with different society sectors, institutions and segments. “The achievements attained by the UAE in terms of security and safety are highly important gains that must be maintained, in support of the efforts to promote safety in our society,” pointed out First Lieutenant Al Shamesi. In conclusion, he indicated that the Ambulance and Rescue Section and the Security Inspection Department at Abu Dhabi Police participated in the program.
