The Internet of Things is the juggernaut sweeping through the global ICT industry. Gartner, Inc. suggests that IoT is still in its nascent stage, forecasting that 25 billion connected things will be in use by 2020 and that IoT endpoints will grow at a 35.2% CAGR from 2013 through 2020.

With the Internet of Things and its technology, applications, and services a major draw for buyers all over the world, COMPUTEX TAIPEI is introducing the SmarTEX exhibit in 2016. Located in TWTC Exhibition Hall 1, this new exhibit will combine security applications, smart home and entertainment, wearable technology, automotive electronics, 3D printing, and smart solutions. The organizers are targeting major international system integrators in addition to manufacturing companies, suppliers, and distributors.

The rise of the Internet of Things has restructured the industry supply chain, while the small-volume, large-variety production model has driven innovation from makers and startups in potential or niche IoT applications. Gartner predicts that by 2017, 50 percent of IoT solutions will originate in startups that are less than three years old.

Starting in 2016, COMPUTEX TAIPEI plans to become the more international gathering of startups and new ventures. InnoVEX, which will be established in TWTC Exhibition Hall 3, will be a “startup village” that combines major themes in IoT cross-industry applications, e-Commerce, and disruptive technology. This new exhibit uses out-of-the-box, open booths and networking spaces to create a matchmaking platform between investors and startups. InnoVEX will also host a series of forums and seminars and networking sessions to maximize innovative, technological, and investment exchanges.

At the Nangang Exhibition Hall, “Systems and Solutions”, “POS” and “Embedded Products and Smart Manufacturing” will form a golden triad in the development of new profit models and raising manufacturing productivity. International buyers seeking total solutions will also be a major target audience. The semiconductors area in the Taipei International Conference Center will offer a complete chain of services from design and manufacturing to software-hardware integration. In addition, COMPUTEX will debut the iStyle area, which offers Apple-certified peripherals and apps.

Demand for COMPUTEX exhibitor spaces in previous years has exceeded availability. Interested exhibitors are encouraged to register as soon as possible to guarantee. For the application kits and the most up-to-date information, please visit the official COMPUTEX website: www.computextaipei.com.tw
