Welcomed Participation of Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Consultants in Khalifa Student Empowerment Program

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met with Zayed Saeed Saif, Chairman of the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Consultants, at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters, as a part of the introductory meeting organized by Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar” with the Association. This falls in line with the efforts to enhance and promote the concepts of mutual institutional work between all ministries, local and federal entities, private institutions and civil society institutions, as well as all other parties involved with students, as per the National Charter for Students’ Awareness.
His Highness Sheikh Saif hailed the partnership between the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Consultants with the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’. He emphasized the need for concerted efforts in the fight against crime, which he considered an enemy of all societies; and the need to enhance family protection, which represents the pillar of society, and to support the youth.
HH Sheikh Al Nahyan issued his directives to hold open workshops to discuss all potential issues that would contribute to developing the systems and mechanisms of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program. He also called for providing the authentic and bright image of the Emirati society, strengthening the social fabric and social communication, with the aim of achieving the higher leadership’s goals in the growth and development journey witnessed by the country.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, inaugurated the introductory meeting, noting that police work has gone beyond the traditional policing to become more comprehensive, focusing on providing security and safety of communities. He said: “The UAE is home to more than 200 nationalities. This requires more work in order to fight crime. To this end, the ministry has been keen to develop initiatives based on how to assess problems, plan and implement solutions, build partnerships, to combat crime and support community work.”
He also tackled the evolution of police efforts to keep pace with the development in the fight against crime. He said: “The Ministry of Interior endeavors to achieve development by focusing on the vision and strategy via a new set of concepts and management approaches, and by adopting an advanced methodology that identifies and solves defects; develops mechanisms and upgrades services to a seven-star rating. This is based on the government philosophy that focuses on excellence, evaluation, forward looking and focusing on results.”
He also noted that the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program is constantly endeavoring to reinforce partnerships and leverage distinguished methods to enhance students’ awareness, develop children’s personality and boost their pride with their identity, and unify national efforts. He also noted that the MoI strategy reflects its diligent vision to make the UAE one of the safest and most secure countries in the world, as well as its mission that focuses on efficiently working to enhance quality of life in society.
For his part, Colonel Expert Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Dabal, General Coordinator of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, delivered a presentation on the Program. He pointed out that Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has called for fundamental pillars in the establishment of the Program, which stipulate the need to involve all ministries and competent authorities to achieve the program’s objectives, notably unifying national efforts to nurture future generations of conscious students.
Colonel Al Dabal also asserted that the Program has interacted with over 50 entities in order to diversify approaches, use modern tools and technologies and review international and regional experience in the field in order to create a unique Program. After that, he tackled the expected results from the participation of various government and private entities in formulating the National Charter for Students’ Awareness, by promoting the concept of national identity and knowledge.
For his part, Zayed Saeed Saif, Chairman of Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Consultants, praised the objectives of the Khalifa Students Empowerment Program. He noted that the Program stems from the vision of H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed on the need to set forth a comprehensive system and unify efforts in support of the youth. He also stressed on the importance of concerted efforts to achieve a safe, legally aware society that fights crime and negative behaviors. He also pointed out that the Association will be working in the coming period on establishing an executive plan to further involve the Association’s role in the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, by involving lawyers in lectures and courses to support education and awareness tools that target students.
