Using the latest technologies to fight crime
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, October 15th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The seventh edition of ISNR Abu Dhabi will take place on 15th -17th March, 2016 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). In this edition, which will be more comprehensive than ever before, the policing sector will host a pavilion under the theme, “The Future of Policing”, in light of the growing commitment of police entities across Middle Eastern countries to avail the world’s latest technologies and products, such as wearable devices, data analysis and social media, in order to fight crime more efficiently and effectively.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the 2016 International Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR) said: “Today’s world is far different than it was a few years back. It is constantly evolving. In light of this, the services provided by police entities to citizens across the world need to be revamped and developed, commensurate with the changes and developments taking place around us.”
Major General Al Raisi continued: “The increased use of technology innovations makes it easier for the police to collect and store a vast amount of information needed to detect and prevent criminal activity, and ultimately facilitates access to and exchange of this information later. In light of the police’s commitment to interact closely with citizens who are in need of the sense of security provided by the police, such advanced solutions would help police officers to provide the best levels of service, and to be better equipped and ready to deal with criminals and respond to emergencies.”
For her part, Nicky Dawson Group Exhibition Director at Reed Exhibition, said that the police entities in Middle Eastern countries are at the forefront of world entities that are now moving to adopt new technologies and products, in support of governments’ ongoing vision to enhance the services provided to citizens.
“Technology has a real and proven potential to reduce crime and make policing more efficient and affordable. In this context, regional governments are striving to be at the forefront in the adoption of the new policing trends, in line with their commitment to ensure the safety of communities in the future,” she added.
According to a recent report by "Accenture", communities are increasingly calling for more convenient services and a better approach to fight digital crime, which is becoming more organized, amid today’s funding pressures and budgetary restrictions.
This image becomes clear on the global level, at a time when police authorities around the world strive to fulfill the high expectations of the public and meet these growing demands. To this end, police entities are seeking to source innovative technology solutions including video, mobility solutions and data exchange, in view of improving the operational efficiency and working closely with community members.
It is worth mentioning that the 2016 International Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR), organized by the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with Reed Exhibitions, is the definitive international all-encompassing platform, bringing together governments from around the world to get acquainted with the latest homeland security trends and innovative solutions in one place, at one time. The three-day event is expected to see more than 500 exhibiting companies from 4 countries to exhibit their security solutions to nearly 20,000 attendees from more than 90 countries. ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 will showcase the real improvements currently witnessed in the Middle East and will provide a road map for future development.
