ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, October 22nd 2015 [ME NewsWire]
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police offered awareness guidance about traffic and road safety instructions to families and children during the recreational day organized by ADCO Company. This falls in line with the community outreach initiatives undertaken by the Directorate and its keenness to communicate with different society segments as well as with public and private institutions, with the aim of enhancing traffic culture in society.
Captain Aisha Mohammed Al Zaabi, Traffic Awareness Officer at the Public Relations Section of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said: “As a part of the awareness programs at Ferrari World, children were encouraged to respect and observe traffic rules and regulations. They were told that streets are not a safe place to play, and educated on the need to cross the road at the designated pedestrian crossings, in order to avoid traffic accidents.”
The program also included an interactive show about traffic safety, the safe use of the road, and the danger of teens’ driving. The program also acquainted children with the type and meaning of traffic signals, and their role in organizing the traffic movement.
