The Ministry of Interior has launched the “Share My Knowledge” initiative on the level of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments. The initiative comes as response to the request of Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The initiative aims at exchanging and promoting knowledge transfer amongst staff members, to leverage the expertise of former leaders in various police work fields in order to serve the organizational excellence by improving occupational performance indicators.
During the launching event that was held at the Hilton Sharjah Hotel, Brigadier Hamad Adeel Al Shamesi, Director General of Correctional and Punitive Establishments at the Ministry of Interior called for spreading and applying knowledge in all fields of police work. The event was attended by a number of sections chiefs and branch managers, in addition to a number of staff members from the Punitive and Correctional Establishments in the UAE.
Brigadier Al Shamesi said: “Teamwork, performance of duties, courage and excellence are elements that contribute greatly to advancing police work and positively affect staff members.” He also noted that the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments is keen to fully benefit from all aspects of explicit and implicit knowledge of its distinguished staff members in its quest to achieve the Government’s aspirations in attaining a world-class stature.
Brigadier Al Shamesi referred to the achievements made by the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments and shed the light on its future plans and programs. He also asserted the importance of activating knowledge networking between superiors and subordinates in any entity in order to fully utilize the knowledge and expertise in the creation of new knowledge. This falls within the framework of the leadership’s goal to support the principles of applying knowledge management.
As part of the launching event, a knowledge-oriented workshop was organized. The workshop witnessed the participation of Brigadier Ali Al Shimali, Director General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Dubai; Brigadier Sami Hareb Al Munthari, Head of Human Resources and Support Services Department at the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments; in addition to department heads at the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments across the UAE. Participants stressed their full-fledged commitment to achieving the police leadership’s aspirations and attaining advanced levels according to international-best standards.
